VPI Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Bike looks great Justin. When does it arrive? My cracked ribs should be healed up in the coming weeks and the MTB needs to get out for some play. 2 Quote
Dreadhead Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 There is also great road riding near Charlottesville. Enjoy Justin Quote

VPI Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 My crash at Mayberry. I ended up with two cracked ribs. Quote
n_maher Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Ah, that sucks. I didn't follow Mayberry that closely because it was too painful. At least I thought it was painful. Sounds like it was more painful for you! Quote

VPI Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Shaping up to be a great weekend for a ride or two. I hope I remember how to do it after all this time. Quote
nikongod Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Shaping up to be a great weekend for a ride or two. I hope I remember how to do it after all this time. Its just like riding a bike. Quote

Dreadhead Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Shaping up to be a great weekend for a ride or two. I hope I remember how to do it after all this time. Enjoy. We're going down to the lake house to do yard work and hang out down there. I may take my bike but I don't think I will as chances are very small I will have time to use it. Quote
VPI Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 I know Chris has one but I am not sure about everyone else. I am looking to pick up some Road ID bands and I am trying to decide on style. Is the rubbery one comfortable? Anyone know? I was able to spare a line for "Head-Case Cycling Team" at the bottom of the ID. Quote
tyrion Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Raffy has a rubber road id bracelet. He will probably chime in at some point. Quote
raffy Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Here's mine, I have a RoadID Slim which can use any "cause" bracelet just like them Livestrong ones. Quote
VPI Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Nice I ended up ordering the thicker one with a band of each color, to color coordinate of course. Quote
Dreadhead Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) I like my rubber premium one with the clasp. I wear it at all times Edited March 8, 2013 by Dreadhead Quote
justin Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 what are those bands for...if you go splat? Quote
VPI Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Pretty much. Or have some other medical emergency on a ride. I use a Garmin 800. Cell phones can be pretty spotty out on the trails but the Garmin typically works. Quote
parris Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 I got one of the thicker ones for my birthday last year. I like it for the fact that it's got not only my name but also emergency contact info, blood type, and med allergy. Quote
n_maher Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Garmin Edge 500 for GPS, phones aren't nearly accurate enough off road. And I'm glad RoadID got brought back up. I'm going to order one today. Quote
VPI Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) Got out on the far too busy W&OD trail today. So many large groups of people out walking and flapping their arms around. Still managed to beat one PR on a bike that is over 4 pounds heavier than my normal bike. I haven't been on the road bike since February so I am thinking I will take the Cervelo out tomorrow to see how many records I can break early in the morning when all the walkers are still asleep/in church.
