Knuckledragger Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 I took a listen to the webcast signal when I got home. Man, that whine is horrendous. Furthermore, the hum is present when most of the station equipment is powered off, so clearly the source is not in the main studio, but something in the production studio where the webcast encoding computer is located. I sent off an email to the general manager of the station, but I haven't heard back yet. Hopefully we can sort this situation out before next Friday.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 It does kind of ruin the mood of those tracks a little. Wait, you listened to it when you got home, so when the station was off the air? Yeah, that was ridonculous, but try listening when there's something playing, it's not as bad. ...but you pick such great tunage, that it's still worth listening to, and doesn't take completely away from the overall vibe. I think I'd find it more tolerable on speakers, for some reason, but on the Sony MDR-V6's, it was quite the BUZZwound. Did you notice it is inversely proportional to the energy of the track? Almost like it's autoducked.
Knuckledragger Posted March 2, 2013 Author Report Posted March 2, 2013 Sup, Heads? My radio show is ffffffinally on the air, in Case you wanted to listen. That nasty noise from last week should be gone.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 \m/ That reminds me, I need to download a lighter app for the next time they play a ballad at a concert I'm at.

Dusty Chalk Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Also, did you just call yourself 'Knuckledragger'? I don't think I've heard you do that before. EDIT: Yes, yes, you just did it again. Wasn't sure if 'Knuckledragger' extended outside of head-case. 'DJ Knuckledragger', I like it. Or is it just, 'Knuckledragger'?
Knuckledragger Posted March 9, 2013 Author Report Posted March 9, 2013 Yeah. "Knuckledragger" has been my DJ name for a decade now. Though I usually get booked as "Dan the Illuminator" on flyers and such.

Knuckledragger Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Posted March 23, 2013 It's really nice of Amherst College to send out a notice stating that the Campus Center (and therefore WAMH 89.3 FM) are closed due to spring break so I don't have to waste my time driving there and trying to get. Oh, wait.

MexicanDragon Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 How many times do you say "Dammit, Colin!" on air? Also, how played out is the "1s and 0s" vs "1s and 2s" reference in the digital DJ world? **BRENT**
