Torpedo Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Rest in peace Ernest. He was one of my favorite actors since childhood.
emelius Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 loved him in Airwolf...but, in the end, he just didn't masturbate hard enough...
Voltron Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 Rest in peace Ernest. He was one of my favorite actors since childhood. I probably saw every episode of McHale's Navy a dozen times growing up. Acted in an amazing list of movies I love. Glad he got a lifetime achievement award last year. That is cool. And he was 95 years old so he had a pretty good, long life.
Pars Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 RIP. Yep, watched a lot of McHale's Navy, as well as Airwolf. I thought he was great in the Bruce Willis movie not that long ago (name escapes me) as well.

Wmcmanus Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 This. Yes, well expressed, Al. He was a convincing character. 95 is wonderful age that far too few people ever have the opportunity to experience.
skullguise Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 He played such an array of roles, also watched him since the MN days..... RIP
swt61 Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 R.I.P. Mr. Borgnine. When I was in my early 20's, we had a drag queen in Anchorage who looked just like Earnest Borgnine. As you might expect, a dress and makeup really didn't produce a pretty package. I think The Dirty Dozen and The Poseidon Adventure are the standouts for me, but that rough exterior coupled with a vulnerability really made for some interesting characters.
ironbut Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I'd like to say that his Oscar winning "Marty" was my fav but McHale's Navy was. And they wonder why "sticking it to the man" has been the favorite sport of my generation! RIP
