shellylh Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I desperately need a good desk lamp. Using the computer as a light source just isn't a great idea for many reason. I noticed that Softech DL-90 has really good reviews on amazon and I like the idea of using LEDs and having a natural-like light source. I was wondering if anyone has used a similar type of light or has any alternatives? Quote

shellylh Posted May 15, 2012 Author Report Posted May 15, 2012 I looked at that one but was afraid that it wouldn't light up enough of the desk. I would likely have at least a book/paper and a notebook that would need to be illuminated. Quote
TruBrew Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 That is cool looking. Cheaper than the one I want, but wont spend the money one. http://www.lumens.com/Eco-Task-41006-LED-Table-Lamp-by-ET2/uu427059/product I say buy it and see what you think. If you don't like it you are only out return shipping. Just make sure to keep the box. Shipping is free so they wont deduct that cost from your refund if you should decide to send it back. Quote
blessingx Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) I'd say sign up on Fab and wait a couple weeks. Always cool lamps coming up (though maybe not exactly what you're looking for). For instance right now... Edited May 15, 2012 by blessingx Quote
Mister X Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) I looked at that one but was afraid that it wouldn't light up enough of the desk. That was the same concern I had with that one. http://www.potteryba...ask-table-lamp/ Works quite well with a 60 watt (equivalent) led bulb and it's easy to re-adjust when needed. Pretty retro though... Edited May 15, 2012 by Mister X Quote
grawk Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I use a green banker's lamp. http://www.officemax.com/office-furniture/lighting/desk-and-floor-lamps/product-prod2040020?cm_mmc=Googlepla-_-Office%20Furniture-_-Lighting-_-Desk%20and%20Floor%20Lamps&CS_003=9286091&CS_010=21661998&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=21661998&gclid=CKqj2_rwgbACFUdN4AodZHE8FA Quote
kevin gilmore Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 bankers lamp with one of the new GE 100 watt equivalent A19 LED bulbs. Plenty of light. Quote
mrarroyo Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 For under $23: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/687849/Realspace-Urban-Task-Lamp-17-H/?cm_cat=2000000353 I have had one for over a year and works well, if a lot of light is needed then get two! Still cheaper ... Quote
Duggeh Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I use an Anglepoise type 75. I have 2, one for the desk one for the bedside table. Love them. Big things compared to a bankers lamp though. Quote
