Thelonious Monk Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 If you're a Rocker and listen to some Hip-Hop and small Jazz, these should be a priority purchase. this made me laugh because that's a perfect description of my music taste. i love my sr225 and may upgrade to rs1s in the future... i'll probably try to hunt down the darker wood/brown headband version, for the sake of aesthetics. i am glad someone else enjoys grados with solid state. i don't want to fool around with tubes unless i end up having a much more serious system than i plan, and i would probably get a custom job with binding posts and a serious tube complement because i am a power whore. i like this topic because there's actually some somewhat insightful comments as opposed to "good with rock!! go flats!! tubes give me a boner." Nanoha Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 I feel kind of funny whenever I think of the RS-1. I heard them a long time ago and loved them greatly. But whenever I tell my friends that I like the RS-1, they all look at me funny like I'm deaf and absolutely out of my mind. To most, they just can't bear to hear anything that isn't "neutral" or doesn't have that "big soundstage". Heck, I'm embarrassed to say that I prefer musicality/fun over neutrality/realism in public with my real-life audiophile friends. Meh, I find it kind of comforting that many people here likes the RS-1, HP-2, and PS-1 so much. It feels good to know that I have friends/acquaintances who like to have fun while listening to music too! Time to pick up a RS-1 sometime in the future. Quote
aerius Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 You have audiophile friends? Scarily enough, I know a chick who has RS-1's, a custom 2A3 tube amp, and an Audio Aero Capitole CD player. If I were single, I'd marry her. Quote
