@purrin

I'm disappointed that it's as flawed as the pre-production version and they didn't do anything to fix the issues. undecided.gif

The only thing that changed was the "HD700" type. The type is bold on the pre-production, but has thin skinny lines on the production version. Basically Sennheiser had already finished the design and the last step was to build hype for it while they got the production line / QA processes going.

As far as the rumors behind the delays (they are fixing the issues), it was probably wishful thinking the part of some people.

I'm with Purrin on this one - the midrange suckout ruins everything for me. I do find them very comfy and the build quality doesn't put me off....but the stench - geez. What's with the stank on these things?

Hater

P.S. Try using it at 65db. It works better.

No dude...you're wrong!

Tyll...try turning the amp off first. Make sure it stays off. Works best that way. grin.gif

Reports are that they sound fine 'unamped'.

Comfort? Poor. I had my 650's, a pair of 700's, and 800's at a mini meet..Hard to believe the 700's were

built by Sennheiser. Sound wise both the 700's and 800's are a whole different sound form the 6x0 series.

I prefer the 800 to 700. But I'm not sure I'd spend the $$ for the 800's. At this point, the

Stax 202's are hanging around for a while. I liked the 800's, but not $1499 of like.

The 800's are the most comfortable of any cans ever on my head.

Saw InnerFidelity measurements for the HD700. The dip after 1k is quite puzzling. Also 300Hz square and impulse response looks strange- too much leftover energy after the initial spike.
