Aura Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Because some of us are really into this horizontal stout release. http://www.fiftyfiftybrewing.com/2012Futures.pdf Quote
tyrion Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Bryan, Thanks for posting. This is some good stuff and I plan on buying some futures. Quote
manaox2 Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Anyone going to be in California to receive these delicious brews? Quote
raffy Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Definitely interested....do we have a willing trustee to receive our bottles in CA? Quote
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 West Coast team - we need your help! Quote
guzziguy Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 If I'm still in California at the release date, I'd be happy to accept shipments and relay them on to the buyers. Quote
manaox2 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Anyone have an opinion on the best barrel aged version this year? Right now I'm leaning towards the Elijah Craig 12 yr. Wish the 18yr could have made a return. Quote

Wish the 18yr could have made a return. They did EC 18 two better and made a 20yr, which is probably the standout for me without looking back at notes. 2011 Elijah Craig 12 year Barrel = Purple Four Roses Single Barrel = Red Rittenhouse Rye Barrel = Green Elijah Craig 20 year Barrel = White Brandy Barrel Blend = Burgandy Buffalo Trace Barrel Blend = Yellow Brewmaster’s Grand Cru Blend = Copper I received some shipments this year and can do the same. Hopefully I can look at the futures link before it's past! Quote

They may have only put the 20 yr old in kegs (think they only made about 50 gallons of it total from reading up on it. Quote
mikeymad Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Mikey address available if needed as well.... not going anywhere. Quote

I actually wrote them a question about it because of the advance sale saying 20 yo and the box or City Beer or somebody said that the whiskey was actually the EC 18 yo. The white wax one is extremely good, whatever was in the cask before the Eclipse. Quote
mikeymad Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 knew I should have gotten a white... still sitting on the Green/Copper/Red 2011s Quote
jp11801 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 just drank two so far and they are sublime! I am in for the futures and think I'm going for more than I bought in 2011. Quote
Augsburger Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 I am available for freight forwarding duty if called upon. Just PM me. Quote
raffy Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I'm getting a couple of bottles of Eclipse via trade......I've never had one before so I'm asking for yall's opinion. Which out of this list should I get: 2011: 4 roses, heaven hill, ec18, buffalo trace, brandy, grand cru, 2010: heaven hill I'm almost certain on getting an EC18 but I'm not sure which to get for my 2nd bottle. I'm tempted to get the 2010 Heaven Hill/Rittenhouse rye but I've read on multiple reviews that 2010 was not a good year for that variant. Thoughts? Quote

Actually, some I've read the 2010 wasn't really that bad, just more bourbon flavor made it boozy. For me, Its either that or the buffalo trace, I'd probably choose the Heaven Hill myself. Quote
raffy Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Thanks for the quick reply Scott. I guess I gotta have one bourbon (EC18) and one Rye (HH). I wonder if I should go 2010 or 2011 on the HH? Quote
Aura Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 I really enjoyed the 2010 HH that Mike G brought to my tasting in the fall. EC18 really seems to be a no-brainer. Quote
raffy Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Thanks Brian! I'm just trying to avoid a "raisiny" variant (if there is even one) like BCBS/WWS. The more coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt tones, the better. You can probably now tell why I'm such a slut for KBS Quote
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Twin sluts for KBS here roomie, and yeah, the HH we had at Bryan's was most excellent. Quote
