falkon Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 What barware do you use? I'm looking for a good set.
Beefy Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Bottle, glass, mouth. Glass optional. With respect to a helpful answer, I got nothing. 1
morphsci Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Check out cocktail kingdom and the Boston shaker online.
mikeymad Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Glencairn's... lots and lots of Glencairn's
falkon Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 Haha, well seeing as you drink so much Scotch. Would you guys recommend a Boston or cobbler shaker?
morphsci Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Cobbler shaker is easier but Boston Shaker is cooler, when done right.
manaox2 Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I use Reidel for wine stuffs, Glencairns for my bourbon/scotch, some stackable rocks glasses for various things like whiskey and beer tastings, souvenier brewery goblets and pint glasses for beer. I also have some pint mugs which I really don't find good for anything.
shellylh Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I use various Reidel glasses and like all of them: (small 4oz) martini, bordeaux wine, cognac, tequila, port. I would not hesitate to buy them again. The Glencairn are great for whiskey. I have bought stuff from Boston Shaker and they are great! For everyday glassware, we stick to the used Bonne Maman preserves jars though.
Augsburger Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 X2. Shelly, we are big fans of Bonne Maman. Have you tried the blueberry and cherry? Awesome stuff.
The Monkey Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Danger lurks in this here thread. We generally buy Reidel for wine glasses--good bang for the buck and no one has to cry when they break. But tumblers, lordy, I have a soft spot for nice tumblers. Missus Monkey and I received some Baccarat tumblers as a wedding gift. They're fantastic. Heavy, thick glass. I'm just terrified to use them... Finally, this thing has been a game changer for me:
falkon Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 Here's the matching old fashioned glass
falkon Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 Match pewter rocks glass. http://www.didriks.com/Match-Rocks-Glass-Crystal.html
The Monkey Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Can someone recommend to me a good all around beer glass. Preferably one without any beer labels, etc.
raffy Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Can someone recommend to me a good all around beer glass. Preferably one without any beer labels, etc. I love my Sam Adams Boston lager glass. Obviously that has a couple of beer labels though.
grawk Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 The two on the right are the ones I'd want to have several of, especially if I objected to beer advertising on my beer glasses...
morphsci Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 I love my Sam Adams Boston lager glass. Obviously that has a couple of beer labels though. ^^^ This.
The Monkey Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 I love my Sam Adams Boston lager glass. Obviously that has a couple of beer labels though. I like them too, but the spouse does not.
naamanf Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 I have a case of the Anchor Hocking Begium Beer glasses that I think would fit the bill. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/anchor-hocking-90093-belgian-beer-glass-13-oz-12-cs/55090093.html
