hydrojesse Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 My name is Jesse Milstead of Lackey high school and my engineering team and I are desiging/creating a tracesable arrow using both a knock that lights up and a very small speaker. The speaker part is what i need your help with, we need a speaker 3mm or smaller and it doesnt matter how long it is. But the smaller the better in this case since we need to not mess with balance of the arrow as much as possible. Thanks, Jesse and JCD Engineering
grawk Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 good luck on your search, but you really aren't in the right place for that.
Tyll Hertsens Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 (edited) Piezo electric buzzers (the things that beep in computers) are small. http://adafruit.com/...CFQV_hwodGwg-LA A better pace to ask you questions may be DIY Audio forum: http://www.diyaudio.com/ Edited February 28, 2012 by Tyll Hertsens
Duggeh Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Can one buy balanced armature drivers without buying an IEM? One of those would do.
Tyll Hertsens Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Can one buy balanced armature drivers without buying an IEM? One of those would do. They wouldn't really create much of a noise without being trapped in an ear canal.
swt61 Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 ^ This just proves there's always a sensible answer at Head-Case.

nikongod Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Shrimp Dhik IEMs would be ideal for folks with slender ear canals.
swt61 Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Shrimp Dhik IEMs would be ideal for folks with slender ear canals. Yeah, and the Pencil Dhiks came to mind too.
CarlSeibert Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 You should talk to guys who design mobile phones. They use itty bitty litttle board-mounted speakers. Unfortuanately, we don't have anybody like that here. There are forums chock full of such people, tough. 1

bhjazz Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 They wouldn't really create much of a noise without being trapped in an ear canal. Maybe he can grow an ear on the back of a mouse like they used to do.
manaox2 Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 (edited) Good grief. Just carve a notch in the arrow so that it whistles and quit trying to be all fancy. Now then, I'm done being a lackey for the lackey high students. Edited March 1, 2012 by manaox2
Aura Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 So would you know forums that would be helpful? I'm shocked you even got a half-serious answer from anyone here. Time to leave before we drop your ass like third period French.
swt61 Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 Wow, good thing you didn't get drop and french mixed up!
