bhjazz Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 You would be 256 today. Impressive. I will celebrate today by listening to lots of symphonies and the Amadeus soundtrack.
Pars Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a Mozart! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081208165143AAkFcLJ
mikeymad Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 Will queue up the movie in high def tonight... for now --
n3rdling Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 My favorite part of the movie I'm obsessed with that oboe
Craig Sawyers Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 An 8-bit birthday Seriously I love Mozart's works - if I were stranded on a desert island, and all I had was a collection of his works (and a solar powered CD or MP3 player...) I would not go mad.
mikeymad Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 finally got around to the movie tonight -- ink strokes
The Monkey Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 finally got around to the movie tonight -- How'd it like it Mikey? I love that movie.

bhjazz Posted January 29, 2012 Author Report Posted January 29, 2012 My favorite part of the movie I'd have to agree. Watching him see and hear the music in his mind: wonderful.
n3rdling Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 I also like the deathbed scene just because the Requiem is totally badass.
Craig Sawyers Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 mm din't know that movie..bluray on the way. What's its his best work ? so far the few times I listened I found it boring Well, his worst work is Eine Kleine Nacht Musik. It is musical popcorn. But the guy wrote 600-odd pieces of music, so he is allowed the odd bad one. The most wierd one he composed was for glass harmonium. This was a mechanically driven set of rotating glasses tuned to different notes, and sounded by a keyboard linked to felt pads which pressed on the rim. Kind of like the thing we've all done of rubbing a finger around a part full wine glass. The guy who funded that piece clearly had bought this instrument from hell, and Mozart was commissioned to write something for it. But I have no idea how you would write a list of his best pieces. The operas? The clarinet concerto and clarinet quintet? The requiem? I love everthing I've heard of his, with the exception of EKNM, which drives my nuts.
morphsci Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Well, his worst work is Eine Kleine Nacht Musik. It is musical popcorn. .... I like popcorn.
mikeymad Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 How'd it like it Mikey? I love that movie. Still one of my top movies - watch about once a year had a great effect on me back when I first saw it in the theater as a highschooler.
