deepak Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Haven't seen a movie in a while where the movie just grabs your attention and holds on to it the entire time. Aside from a rather drawn out scene towards the end the entire movie was excellent. And for those of you that really dislike subtitles, they're all single line and very easy to follow.
Grand Enigma Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Must say i was more then disappointed... as reks pointed out it was not historically accurate nor did they bother to even tell you who the people groups were... I was really hopping for some angry Mayan gods destroying them but no such luck... if you are going to bother with trying to hint at what their demise was at least make sure it has aliens and monsters in it... Mini Review: Violante stupid love story that was entirely too long and involved too much man-butt... the only take away was that every woman should be like the main characters wife was.
ojnihs Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Hmm...guess I will not be seeing this one
deepak Posted December 30, 2006 Author Report Posted December 30, 2006 Since when have Mel Gibson movies been accurate (even if he has attempted to)?
grawk Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 well, he made this big to do about just how incredibly accurate the film was. i liked the movie, i just found the historical inaccuracies in the face of Gibson's claims to be irritating. So how do you know the historians you're believing are more accurate than the historians he was using? I haven't seen the movie, but just because not everyone agrees on his facts doesn't mean he's wrong. It's not like we have great records from mayan times.
