I kinda like em...but wtf. I know I'm old :)

Me too on both counts. Maybe it's because we remember the days when competition against teams like Russia was a substitute for war. If we can't nuke 'em, at least beat 'em in the Olympics.

Yeah I think the olympics lost most of their "innocence" and intrigue when they started allowing professional atheletes to participate.

i liked watching figure skating... i dunno, watching them drop those hot women on the ice kinda put a grin on my face.

LOL ;D. At least the good old US finished 2nd in the metal count. Pretty good for the winter olympics which we traditionally suck at.

In '98 we had the big pot smoking deal with one of the Canadian snowboarders, 2002 had the figure skating fiasco, and you're right, I don't seem to remember anything big this year. I think a few athletes got nailed for performance enhancing drugs and that was it.
