  1. 400V rating on the ones I used; Mouser 651-5452261
  2. Beautiful work as usual Birgir. Just powered up my new on-boards tonight
  3. The latest onboard (Production Rev 0.63) has a couple of new surprises I haven’t seen before. I dang nearly missed that jumper for the BJT current sink. Why the need for the 18V zeners for the Mosfet option?
  4. In the next week or so I’m getting a few quotes on panels for a KGSSHV build. Is any one in out there in Australia interested/ready at this point to go in with a combined shipment?
  5. All of the film caps with a 15mm lead spacing have a 0.8 lead diameter, at least the ones I've searched for, which is too big for the onboard pcb holes. Nothing that a file can't fix, just thought I'd mention.
  6. Stunning boards. Petite next to the older Lil Knight PCBs.
  7. For a 450V psu if using 2sa1486, do the unpopulated 270V zeners need to be shorted?
  8. http://sound.westhost.com/articles/diy-heatsink.htm
  9. Wimpy 100mA HV windings on the earlier models?
  10. 36 month warranty ain’t too shabby for an “average” transformer? Sumrs have there moments, I can’t say I’ve had a unit go south yet.
  11. Anyone had experience with this mob for custom transformers? http://www.tortran.com/custom_audio_transformers.html
  12. Angle the devices and sink to the chassis floor. The pcb already has holes just for this occasion. If you still worried about heat, up the thickness of the base panel, I'm thinking 6mm. Edit: Maybe your pcb doesn't have screw holes, but you can still do this with a bit of care.
  13. Townes Van Zandt - Our Mother the Mountain
  14. 2c worth after many pints... That DAC is quite long in the tooth now, but not as much as the Apogee Centaur.
  15. ...an original avatar wouldn’t hurt either.
  16. eGlobaL Digital Cameras Australia has the HD800 price at $1059aud. NZ and Australia only though. Just in case anyone's thinking about it.
  17. What's extremely hot? It is sitting on a thick rubber mat? A short to ground may explain the sudden heat...? I've measured my SumR in my BHSE at 70C. I've since re-housed it in a well ventilated metal box, temps are much better after a few hours (40 - 45C). They're rated max 105C, so I'm not too worried, and they are relatively noise free. However... The two SumRs in my FX5 buzz if I push the current up to the Amps optimum range. I've had to dial it down because the piss poor quality of the transformers.
