  1. Really nice build, great details.
  2. I have 3U Pesante Dissipante drawn up. Depends which Stax socket your using though. My Drawing fits this Stax socket, for a 10mm front panel; Drawing; Pm me if you wan’t this drawing, John
  3. I read somewhere the Stax amps aim for a max 10v offset.
  4. Isopropyl alcohol doesn’t leave a film, if all the flux is removed. So you need to give it a good couple of cleans, to flush all the flux of the boards. I can see a few solder joints that haven’t been cleaned properly and have flux residue. Something that air cannot remove...
  5. Wipe it down with 100% pure isopropyl alcohol. Get to the nit and gritty with a toothbrush (that has been dunked in isopropyl alcohol).
  6. Wishing you all the best on your birthday Tom! Now... if I could only find one of our meet photos for old time sake, you know the blue steel look.
  7. It definitely looks like a balanced (shielded) cable. I prefer using a standard two core audio cable rather than a balanced (shielded) cable within the amp. Rather than drag the shield through the amp, I connect it directly to the chassis at point of entry (the Neutrik DLX series have a feature just for this) with the shortest piece of wire possible. “Balanced cable shields should function as an extension of the enclosure.” (Raine notes) Spritzer has those PCB’s.
  8. Indeed, I forgot about the AC heater wiring through the umbilical.
  9. What about EMI? Having the AC separate kind of makes sense to me.
  10. Thanks Andy, that's good to know. I guess your using them in your T2?
  11. Anyone have experience with the famed Metal Based Holland EL34’s?
  12. Dam shame to see a ALPS RK50 put out to pasture.
  13. Go on rub it in . Seriously though that’s a brilliant image.
  14. DIY rack, 25mm Marine Ply... does the job.
  15. Nice work David. I’m looking forward to seeing the new rack.
  16. Jon L my advise is never ever do any transaction via bank transfer. I was scammed thousands of dollars... long story, I wouldn't want to see it happen to you.
