  1. Assumption the mother of all evil. In saying that, I can clearly hear the sonic character of new tubes change and settle over the first initial 48 hours.
  2. Hi judo, The outputs are directly connected to the inputs. The benifit is that I can run multiple amps daisy chained from a single source without having to disconnect and reconnect amplifiers. John
  3. Should be fine. Several of these earlier boards were warped for some reason, even with the HV stuff I’ve not had any issues.
  4. I’m game, hoping/aiming for a yield of 21 usable pcs.
  5. I have a bad gut feeling about PriceJapan somewhat reminiscent of Lil’ Knights sudden departure.
  6. For dual primary transformers it uses this simple selector switch; http://au.mouser.com/Search/m_ProductDetail.aspx?R=V80212MS02QEvirtualkey61170000virtualkey611-V80212MS02QE Has extra terminals for grounding and AC switch capability. It's very simple.
  7. ^What I'm also hearing from this is how well the Yggydrasil holds up against $15K MSB.
  8. ^I avoided high voltages today in favour of beer and red wine. It's been a great day! Many thanks guys!
  9. Hi Neil, I think the difference is subtle but worthwhile, the GRLV offers a slightly more stable presentation. The transformer is from Sumr, fully encapsulated as well as core band shielding. John
  10. Thanks guys. Insanity, from habit I always raise the capacitors off the boards, but because they are horizontally challenged as well, the flat rubber rings (from a plumbers supply) help disperse weight without chance of sagging. nopants, you are right on the money, the top plate design is indeed inspired from my f5x. The front panel also has the bevel on either side which also matches the f5x look.
  11. My own Carbon, not going anywhere... IMG_6585 IMG_6590 IMG_6592 IMG_6593 IMG_6595 IMG_6596 IMG_6597
  12. RIP Gene Wilder, the world is bit less colourful today.
  13. Hang on Dave... you should be downing the cheap stuff, and put the savings aside for the Carbon.
  14. http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1998954.pdf Rated 600V (IEC) 300V (UL) I'm going to order some today, have a good inspection and see what I think before deciding to install.
  15. The Pheonix terminal blocks do not like heat, you have to be quick soldering not to compromise their integrity. I don’t have any issue with flux creeping through to the reverse side of the pcb when soldering, all the flux is contained within side I’m soldering, I love Kester.
