  1. Yes but you need bigger electrons to let moar basses through.
  2. Kerry you can toot your horn, amazing work.
  3. Very nice building. I can't see any thermal grease applied? Not sure about those insulators with metal screws?
  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. Steve, very belated, but hope you had a great birthday!
  6. Yeah the BHSE is redundant, I gutted mine to farm worms.
  7. I chalk it down to a seven year itch.
  8. Good to know. My amp will be a Dynalo (Kerry's mini version), have you any knowledge of that pairing Steve?
  9. I had a listen today to the Focal Utopias in quite room along with the HD800s for comparison using an unfamiliar Simaudio Moon 430HAD. The Utopias are amazingly good, very impressed, I dug them a fair amount more than the HD800 in that particular set-up. I’m going to shuffle a bit of gear and pick up one in the next week or so.
  10. If the Utopia is the bestest ever, what’s closest runner up? HD800?
  11. No matching. The offset without servos engaged is ~ 0 - 2 mV per phase, which I'm pretty happy with. Congo5, very nice work, impressive soldering. Thanks for the dxf file guys.
  12. I wonder what 'the final edition, of the final edition refined finally' will sound like?
  13. delete me
  14. My Iron felt like the life was getting sucked out of it towards the end battling with the ground plane... I need to sort out how best to attach the heatsinks for the output transistors, a nice non conductive thermal tape of sorts, double sided... for the hopeful. Otherwise my first mini dynalo is working... although I have no dynamic phones to verify. For the chassis I’m going for modushop 40mm side flanges, other panels will be 2mm thick from FPE, black anodised I’m thinking. Amazing job Kerry thank you so much for the mini design.
  15. Thanks congo5.
  16. Thankyou Joamat and Kerry that's great info. In regards to biasing the mini dynalo I assume it mirrors same procedure as the through hole version. I noticed Kerry you had soldered the servos to that first board (V1.3 back in the thread) prior to bringing it up, from what I understood the servos need to be removed when biasing, hence my confusion.
  17. Can I get clarification, I’m using AMBs off-board regs (set to 20v), what other parts (obviously beside the regs themselves) are to left unpopulated?
  18. Many thanks I received my package (yesterday) safely.
  19. Living the action through the posts, had many laughs... I’m chuffed all you guys had a rollicking time.
  20. Hardin’ up. This is a HC meet, get your drinking boots on and go hard.
  21. Happy Birthday Gentleman!
