  1. Yes, I've been playing a Dan Kellaway for the past 17 or so years, it's a lattice braced type, similar to a Greg Smallman's design. You can get an idea of Jim Redgate by watching any of Ana Vidovic performances. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Any classical players here? I'm about to order a Jim Redgate, note sure if it's going to be a traditional, double top or lattice type. I'm going to get details directly from Jim and see what he thinks would suit me best. There's a 14 month waiting time, I think he only produces around 20 guitars a year. Very excited to say he least.
  3. GeorgeP are boards on offer as well as the chassis?
  4. Options are limited; 1) Use a permanent epoxy/glue and risk not being able to access parts again. 2) Use non permanent tape/glue and risk the heatsink becoming loose and shorting something. 3) Let em run hot. I’ve adopted option 3, have measured ~74°C, with an ambient of 24°C after an hour fully cased. Not ideal, but not catastrophic and well within running spec.
  5. Was saddened by this news; http://powersource.post-gazette.com/powersource/companies/2017/04/11/Toshiba-unaudited-earnings-westinghouse-pittsburgh/stories/201704110113
  6. I like the PSU partition . Very nicely thought out details.
  7. 1. Their steel panels are not nice IMO, definitely prefer 3mm aluminium. 2. FPE could do them. Modushop should advise dimensions. I’ve done this with several of my builds (Modushop heatsinks and brackets and Cam Expert have milled the panels.) 3. Cam Expert accept FPE files, that’s what I’ve been suppling them with for years. 4. No experience with CAD software on a mac sorry, what I do initially is draw up files in Adobe Illustrator CC, then manually export x and y coordinates into Front Design, works well and is a great double check. Soren has had some nice machining done by Modushop, I’ve used them for some heatsink drilling/tapping which was very nice as well, they were always good to deal with.
  8. Condolences HemiSam, Rest in peace GG.
  9. Really nice Soren. I've been using AMBs driver switch board as I prefer the feel of momentary switches and without the chance of false triggering from latching types.
  10. He’s fooling, it was sarcasm right?
  11. But my sarcasm... Was like... turned up to 11.
  12. Stereophile’s rated the Yggydrasil class B. I should have kept my class A+ NAD M51.
  13. Agreed, I would not describe the Carbon as 'very cool'. As Mark has pointed out you may have a thermal bottleneck.
  14. ^ I acquired a pair of Ether Flows. Hey who's counting? This is Head Case dammit. ... around $320US plus shipping.
  15. Well that was very quick shipping from FPE , Initially I was going for an all out black box, but FPE don’t do anodising after milling leaving the panels with silver edges, which got me thinking silver sides would help blend in more naturally, so that’s what I did. I’m really happy with the result overall, the fit is really good, the side edges and base of board have have good clearances. I’m still waiting on feet, final LED and volume knob. I’ll do some testing and see how I go with the temperature, uncased I was getting around ~65° over the regs, THATs and outputs, I may have to turn it down a little, depending... Here are the FPE files; https://akashare.egnyte.com/dl/PjWB17863x The side panels are profile 1 cut to a length of 172.7mm.
  16. Thanks guys, I'll do a fit test once I have the panels (should be early next week) and will then post up the final FPE files and photos.
  17. Kerrys awesome mini will fit a FPE profile 1 enclosure. The smallest I could get it: 133.92mm (W) x 172.72mm (D) x 42mm (H) Smaller than Cavalli’s Liquid Carbon in height and depth, and only slightly wider by 6mm. Cavalli’s Liquid Carbon = 127mm (W) x 178mm (D) x 45mm (H) I get my panels next week, I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Here are the drawings. Will share if anyone’s interested .
  18. The opening post lists it in the BOM. It also lists it in the Mouser project cart.
  19. I bought a pair of the flows this week after a first listen, got them home to do war with the 009s, does suck directly compared, but not by much. A different tonal balance, very pleasing overall - I think they’ll be a great addition to the system.
