  1. May be if people, who are strongly against SDMs and who are for them, can make their cases to show that benefits exceeds in ether case, then we can agreed on this subject and move on. Same goes for single vs. double box configuration problem.

Also since Dreadhead and I leave few minutes to drive from each other, I think I make sense me to build his amp. I can do also extra amp or S22 board if we need it.
  3. That's my wife light. Do not see anything wrong with it. It does the job as good as my olive light. Threads like this do not do community any good.
  4. Could you please elaborate more on improvement of ESP 950 /BHSE compare to ESP 950 / SRD7? Thanks.
  5. Hi, since you mentioned about building BH, I would like to ask you if could to help clarify some information, because to build KGBH not easy task. I hope it’s just me missing something. The main problem is the PCBs. To order them I need files. Kevin said that he can't provide them because of the agreement with Justin, who designed them, but Justin willing to sell the boards. Which is very good, because it will be cheaper and easier just to buy them from him? I ask (emailed) Justin, asking if he have them, and looks like my message was lost in tons of other emails, from angry headfirst who were waiting imptient for thier builds, KGBH SE included . On the other hand I heard that in the near future will be new redesigned two boards PSU (one per channel, not two on the same board), which be able to provide 500v. Plus the original designed schematic has been tweaked, and is now KGBH SE. So I decided to wait and hope that all of that will be available in the near future to regular DIYer. Few more questions . What is the difference between SRD 7/mkII and SRD 7 Pro. And is it possible to lift bias on my SRD 7/mkII to 620-630v to use it with recabled ESP 950? Thanks!
  6. Thank you guys!
  7. Thinking to dip my head in to electrostatics. Can somebody tell me please, how to tell the difference between Lambda Pro and Lambda Signature or Nova? Thanks
  8. I bet they sound like crap.
  9. The problem with MDR-CD3000 is that the HP needs to be recabled + little trick. I am not talking about $200 cable, my cable is .60c per feet Mogami. Here is little story: Recently I scored brand new CD3000 and had the same impression of the sound as above. I was thinking to sell them but before that I decided to try the Sony CD3000 balanced. When I cut the mini plug to reterminate it I realized that there just three wires in the cable. So I decided to recable the HP. The design, materials and quality good. The problem is that the three wire cable soldered to the left driver pads and then a tiny tinny a lot more thinner wire with two non isolated wires inside, cheap quality, like the one used in ipod bugs cable goes from the left driver inside the headband to the right driver. The easiest way was make a hole in the right ear cup and hardwired them with the Y split type termination. But after that the HP won't fit in the original box. So I went the hard original way with the cable through the left side inside the headband to the right driver. Since I disassembled them anyway I also placed a piece of Dynamat in each ear cup. Now I think that they sound really great with no plastic hollowness to the sound. In fact at recent mini meet one person, who heard the CD3000 many many times with different setups said, that he don't think that he ever heard the Sony
  10. That's me. Well, first I just want to say that I don't care much if headphone produces "flat"/ true to recording sound or colored, warm, cold etc. sound. I like details, tight quality bass and more realistic/natural sound. I knew that Edt. 9 have problems in midrange aria but I was really surprised to hear how big the difference did equalization. I played a bit with the ON/OFF button by switching back and forth every few seconds. With the EQ switching ON: it was like the heavy curtain dropped and midrange details and clarity simply jumped forward. The bass still was there nice and tight but less evident. The heights clarity and quantity increased too. It was just a bit too much for my likening but I not fan of high frequencies, I think my ears just too sensitive to that spectrum. With the EQ OFF: I can clearly hear how the bass was overpowering the rest of the frequency specially midrange. And I always thought that my Edt.9 sounded not true or flat but good. Now no questions that I am going to copy compensation curve and use it too, simply because this way my HP sounds more right and better to my ears. Cheers, Vlad
