  4. I don't know about y'all, but i really abhor labels like "audiophile" or "foodie". Seems like such a pretentious, poser thing to self-identify like that. Of course, he is 13, so maybe I shouldn't care as much. But my goodness, this kid has some odd taste. Traded in a G-Lite for a Schiit Lyr. Sold off a buttload of good headphones for..... DT-48e? Looks kinda like a flipper to me. Edit: wait, he teaches English in China. Not an early teenager like I had thought. Who is this guy?
  5. I personally have trouble just finishing rpgs, let alone replaying them. I only replay deep competitive multiplayer games, and pretty specific ones at that: 2D fighters and Starcraft.
  6. have a good one, Ric!

  9. Just for the sake of completeness, I believe the Skullcandy Roc Nation part should mention the tie-in. Roc Nation = Roc-a-fella = Jay-z. Unless they're just ripping off the name? I'm not too sure, but I wouldn't think so.

  15. I'm Bicurious about this whole usb vs spdif business, especially regarding their recommendation of plugging straight into motherboards and such. I've tried that already, and I didn't particularly like what I heard. This is compared to the dedicated sound card that I am currently using. I don't know how the sound card's spdif compares to an async usb thing. My assumption has always been that the usb would be better than a motherboard's digital output.
  16. The >$400 ATHs are very good, from what I've heard (VTG, W5000, AD2000). But I would budget for an amp for any headphone over $100.
  17. So does this include amp or not? If you need an amp, then I like IEM and Staxen suggestions. Well, I actually don't like Lambda Sigs, but that opinion isn't particularly relevant.
  18. I like girls, myself. To each his own, I guess.
  19. About the same size as I was in HS. 145ish right now. I actually like being small, as weird as that may sound. As for martial arts stuff, I'm no fighter, but I know how to throw a punch. Not that I see any reason for punching Steve, when a firm pat on the bottom would probably suffice. =)
  20. I'm small and foreign, but I've never been bullied. Guess I'm lucky.
  21. Happy bday boys! =)
  22. It's funny, because the whole "this shit measures bad but sounds good" thing is exactly what happened in the Stereophile CDP-8 review. I kinda don't know what to think. NuForce fixed the jitter issue immediately afterward, but I get a vibe that they wouldn't have done anything if they never got called out. The implications there really bother me, personally.
  23. HF thread here This guy's review and measurements here I'm not about to comment on the legitimacy of the measurements, but the uDAC-2 is apparently pretty shitty. NuForce seems to agree but not really care that it's shitty. John Atkinson measured a NuForce CD player, and it was also real shitty. This doesn't speak of the entire NuForce lineup, but I do find it amusing considering the relative popularity of that brand over thar. Can I safely conclude that HF has terrible taste in everything?
  24. That well tempered computer site looks pretty cool. This Micromega pic made me chuckle.
  25. Mr. Szadzik, please follow me as I try a little logic exercise: Tyll Hertsens says a pair of headphones sucks. Some random guy comes to the forum and proceeds to try to convince the community that Tyll does not, in fact, know what he is talking about with regard to headphones. Said random guy makes no references at all to his knowledge base, and as far as I can tell, sources >$2000 worth of phones off a goddamn mp3 player. So, the logical question is: are you fucking retarded?
