  1. Oh, I thought that 300B thing was a speaker amp...
  2. Twitter is cool if you want Shaq to get you free tix to Suns games. It's basically a news feed from individuals.
  3. Happy bday! Post here more!
  4. Hmm my only "must-listens" would be Pico Slim, HD800, PS1000, 5400ES, and any good bargain digital sources that may show up. All the other stuff (BHSE, Smyth, etc) would only be if I had extra time, because I really only care to listen to stuff that I might buy. That said, I'm more interested in just meeting all the Head-Casers.

I'm shocked that I recognize almost every name on the list of attendees. That's why I like it here... not as many random bums.
  6. Shallots are good, but I personally use them much differently than onion. Onions are big and fleshy enough to be a main component, but I'm not aware of any shallot-heavy dishes... Anyways, I use onions mostly for mirepoix; I make a batch of stew about once every 2 weeks, and that's the majority of my cooking. In this case, I just grab the cheap yellow ones, because there's so many other flavors in there. No point going for the good red ones in this case.
  7. Well, there's a good chance the new version will be worse, as opposed to better. Did you get yours yet? I was half hoping you wouldn't be able to sell your DAC3 so you can give a comparison.
  8. An 840C is like $1K, right? Man, there's a TON of options in that range... I haven't read much about the 840C, but I definitely haven't read enough to put it at the front of pack in that price range. But if you've narrowed it down to that or the Benchmark, and everyone says it's better than the Benchmark, then it's an easy choice, no? Anyways, if you haven't built any amps before, I don't think a Beta22 is your best bet for a beginner project. Finally, a recabled HD650 isn't far from RS1 or AD2000...
  9. I gots meself some Kentucky Derby Woodford Reserve from Costco. I love me some Costco man...
  10. Maybe it's just me, but if I'm listening to two different things and find an initial difference, then keep listening and comparing back-to-back for a while, they eventually get harder and harder to distinguish. Maybe because my brain is sick of trying so hard to compare? This ever happen to y'all?
  11. Got meself some plane tix and a hotel room for 2 nights. Whoo.
  12. Happy bday! When was it? Actually, how old are you? =D

  14. Happy happy bday to you, hungrych!
  15. Happy birthday, Doc!
  16. So, umm I really don't understand it when someone keeps saying something doesn't have any bass, but its realism is unrivaled. How does that make sense to anybody? I mean, if it can't do the bottom end correctly, then it ain't all that realistic, is it?
  17. His 1st post back in Jan: OPINION only! SR60 to SR325i - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio Homeboy sure makes em count.
  18. The good ole T4M, eh?
  19. Not the grammar part, the Sony being retarded part. Heh.
  20. Weak weak weak. Thanks for lookin that up.
  21. Well, I'm not sure about that one, but the STR-DA6400ES receiver should sound the same as this player (according to KG), and it DOES have digital inputs. But then it costs almost twice as much and doesn't seem to have balanced outs. Still tempting, though...
  22. Man, if that thing had digital ins, everyone here would have one already... =(

About the harddrive: I believe I got that price 5 months ago, so no. It would've been $200 after rebate, but I didn't do that. Unless there's a couple different 300gb Velociraptors?
  24. Hmmm... lived 6 years in Houston myself and didn't think it was anything special. If I were to move back to TX permanently, it'd have to be Austin. On topic: I honestly wouldn't want to move anywhere that's not near the ocean. Beaches are just too nice.
