  1. Damn, that's interesting stuff.
  2. I like Club Monaco. They're the only place I can consistently find size 28 waist, so they're probably my favorite store by default.
  3. I still have no idea how to read Stereophile. The last issue I saw claimed that the Benchmark DAC1 is the best computer solution ever, and the Sooloos server was a product of the year?!? They obviously know some things about equipment, but they seem utterly hopeless with computer and headphone stuff. Which reviews/reviewers can I actually trust?
  4. I honestly did not know wtf the flying lady was supposed to be until it was named.
  5. But you didn't do it? A bit uncharacteristic...
  6. I can't decide what's more annoying: newbs coming in to buy/sell, newbs coming in just to diss us, or newbs coming in to diss ALO/Ray to try to fit in. I don't mind retarded new threads as much.
  7. happy bday man!
  8. Happy bday!
  9. The flows sound like nothing else, and a good beat is just a simple repeating loop, so it doesn't have a chance to mess up and go wrong. I totally agree regarding album quality being not all that. I once had a conversation with a friend who listens mostly to rap, and he mentioned that he thought a great rap album is one in which half the tracks are good. That, imo, is unacceptably low. I like Tupac as much as the next guy, but I straight up do not like any Tupac albums.
  10. C Chun with meter hurts about as much as Bison; the main difference is that she dies if she messes up the combo. Anyways, I really wish Guilty Gear would put out something on Xbox 360. I love the female character design, and there's enough females that I can always be a female char. In SF, I have to mess with mid tier girls or just be a guy. Usually Vega haha.
  11. C/N Chun aren't stupidly good? I beg to differ . I guess by "stupidly good" you mean best character in the game.
  12. ABA is my girl! But I haven't touched that game since I got an LCD TV, so it's been about 2yrs. She's pretty easy mode from what I remember; certainly no I-no. Actually, I haven't really played games in the past couple years, since graduating and getting a job. Anyways, I just hate Chun in general, not just in SF4. 3S, CVS2, Alpha 2, all the way back to SF2 when her down-forward kick cleanly beat a flash kick! WTF!
  13. Some good stuff from 11 years ago: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPdevf4bS9w]YouTube - Big L - '98 Freestyle[/ame] And some newer shit: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgEKhAYRGFw]YouTube - APATHY "love lock down" (LIL WAYNE T-PAIN KANYE DISS)[/ame]
  14. Truth. An odd double standard, right there.
  15. Go get yourself some Jurassic 5 or Outkast: terrific positive commercial rap imo. I personally gravitate toward violent lyrics, but even metal isn't all violence. Do you not like action movies then?
  16. I gave Cynic's 1st album 1 runthrough a long time ago, but it's been a while. I'll give it a couple more chances, though, because they probably deserve it. They are a bit too oddball for my current tastes, but anything can happen with time. I did have their latest album in my playlist for a while, but I didn't love it.
  17. A couple random thoughts on stuff I've been listening to: Decapitated's Nihility album is just OK. Spheres of Madness has a killer groove and is totally single-worthy, but the rest of the album is fairly boring to me. I put it around the same level as a Necrophagist album. I love the concept of tech death, but only one band has really done it for me: Quo Vadis. I guess the practitioners of this genre mostly aren't blessed with both chops AND songwriting ability. I need to listen to more Death; maybe I'll change my mind. I gave Sunn O)))'s Monoliths and Dimensions a runthrough and thoroughly disliked it. Is the rest of their stuff like this? Elevator music is more exciting to me. I'll probably just check out more melodeath, which is probably my go-to for "extreme" music. But honestly, it's not much different from radio-friendly metalcore. Not sure why melodeath doesn't get radio play...
  18. I've been kinda wondering lately why nobody in audiophiledom seems to talk about rap. Do audiophiles just not like rap? Nobody seems to care about ripping CDs or bumping classics on vinyl, which doesn't make much sense to me, because rap is a very popular genre. It's weird, because obscure shit like tech death or black metal gets plenty of love on forums. But not rap? Well, rap is my second favorite genre after rock, and I hope some of y'all want to talk about it with me. I'm not really into that 80s bboy shit; my tastes only stretch back to early 90s gangsta. My personal favorite rap group has pretty much always been Jedi Mind Tricks, especially the Violent by Design and Legacy of Blood albums. Lately, I've been listening to shitty mp3s of Big L's freestyles, and I'm pretty sure he's like the sickest rapper ever.
  19. I figured it was just a temporary thing so he'd stop acting stupid. I guess his skin was just too thin for this place anyway.
  20. About 2 hours, it seems. Homey got some talent! He can compare amps from memory using a brand new amp that he's had for hours.
  21. That's the criticism? Weak. I hope this thing finally puts iMod/ALO out of business.
  22. Badass!
  23. I'd be sadcat either way, probably, because compromise is unavoidable. I guess I'm just in a glass-half-empty sorta mood, trying to eat myself into shape.
