That was a pretty involved homoerotic conceit.

Duggeh, I'm sure you're aware of this, but that's all kinds of illegal. This is a disgusting situation, and I'm terribly sorry that you're in it. Have you considered taking this beyond ebay? The authorities are often uninterested in email communication, but that is a particularly heinous email. I wouldn't write it off.

I'd wager that the Jade would be a far more radical departure from the o2 Mk. 2 than the Mk. 1 would be. Hopefully we can get something set up with Naaman to hear his 1.2 when he gets it back. That should give a pretty good approximation of the Jade.

Bel Canto high rez USB playback at last

This is the only one I know of. I've read good things about Hagerman, and the price is right. I'm thinking of giving it a shot. -
30$ shipped? I imagine he's just going to put some stamps on it and call it a day. I now regret editing my much snarkier post into something more tame.

Contemplating a new DAC in the <$600 range
Sherwood replied to ph0rk's topic in Home Source Components
Well considering you're on mac and use the 0404, I really encourage you to investigate the spdif out ahead of time. I literally cannot coerce mine to work, and E-Mu support has been far less than helpful. It's possible that I have a bum unit, and possible that I am an idiot, but I've read of a number of users having this problem. Unless you're feeding it over ASIO, the digital out doesn't appear to be activated. -
This is how I choose to remember her:

It seems to have stereo ins: I can see why you'd be hesitant about bootcamp, but the only audio application I can imagine running in Windows over OS X would be gaming, and unless you're really serious about it couldn't you just use onboard audio? I'm not selling duets or anything, but it seems like a good fit for your needs, minus those few niggles. -

At that price point I like what Ori does with his Oritek Zhaolu. You might run into the problem I did, though, and not be able to pull a Spdif signal out of the 0404. Apparently it only outputs digital from an ASIO stream, so unless you use foobar you're out of luck. Of course, what you really want is an Apogee duet, but I don't know if you have a Mac or not, which is a requirement. -
I've been to meets with him. The State does in fact allow him to carry a weapon, though to my knowledge he did not. His main rig is an Apogee Minidac driving a Maxed Woo GES into O2s. That is of no real consequence, but it helps to know a person's reference system when reading their preferences. I agree that a good deal of what he reviews is mid-fi kit, but that's a good deal of what people buy. You might feel that it's wrong for him to present it as hi-fi, but that's not the impression I get from his reviews. I'm not here to change anyone's opinion, but as a friend of mine I feel it necessary to stand up for him when he's called an arrogant sonuvabitch. I'll say not boo about his reviews being torn apart, but it irks me to see his character torn apart. That's really it.

I like the copper RF shield (?) around the tubes. Seems like nice attention to detail.

I have relative pitch, like Reks. Relative pitch is not telling whether a note is right from other notes, but being able to "find" other pitches from one pitch. I taught myself concert E, and I can find any other pitch from that. For what it's worth, concert E is the first note from the song "Airbag" on Radiohead's Kid A. That's how I learned it. My understanding is that perfect pitch is much more common in societies that have a pitch-based language, which leads me to believe that it is not totally nature (as opposed to nurture).

That is probably true.

That's not how I read it at all. it's more of a BA CHAM! WaWawA kind of comment, to me. HeadphoneAddict is a good guy, with no axe to grind. I've always known him to honestly report what he hears, without pretension. Sorry to dig this out of the grave, but I felt compelled.

Got mine all sent off to Duggeh. I like to imagine him listening to it in his awesome little room on his super cool backlit quads and smiling.

Joe Satriani does have one thing going for him, here. Unlike Steve Vai, he didn't release a custom guitar dubbed the "DNA" with his own blood mixed into the paint.

Knowing full well that it is your work, your expression, and your project I can't recommend naming it strongly enough. Before I understood your intention, they were formless elephant buttholes. After I understood your intention they were something else entirely. I think I speak for most of us here when I say that a hint of your intention goes a long way.

Well, I'm guessing you have about 1" of peachfuzz covering your entire head right now.

Wonderful. Just wonderful, the both of them.

I'm just thinking the hazard to your speakers drops immensely when considering that you're getting about 500 btu/hr out of that fireplace. If it were my room I'd have them farther apart, but that's my knee-jerk reaction. I can't say how they sound in your room, nor do I really know what your room looks like.

Seconded. Consider the resolution drafted. Now, if Acoustic Sounds was to open a brick n' mortar near me, I might reconsider...

That's alright, real traps suck. She's pretty cute, though, so good on you.

It seems like you have one of those hip candles-only fireplaces. Am I right in assuming that?
