  1. I will of course visit, but I doubt many of those bottles are any good.
  2. It's Ableton live or nothing. I find the best online instruction for Ableton, lately.
  3. Friends and Mentors, I recently moved overseas to Moldova, a country where 70% of the population is economically dependent in some way on the wine industry. The wines themselves are not very well known internationally, but their primacy in their own country means that wine is consumed at virtually every meal and imported wine is essentially nonexistent. Domestic wine is both a huge business and a central part of culture here. One perk of my housing here is a 1000-bottle subterranean wine cellar, which currently sits empty. I am not well-versed in wine, but considering all the above and an average price of $6 a bottle on the local economy now seems like the perfect time to learn. I've known you all to be fine ladies and gentlemen, and I'm in need of some advice. Do any of you have suggestions on apps I should be using, things I should be trying, or traditions I should be observing while I attempt to educate myself and fill this thing up?
  4. On the go it's airpods pro. They're wildly convenient, though hardly great-sounding. At home it's HD800s, vintage Grado RS-1s, or JH13s if I need privacy. Looks like the Raals are the new hotness, so I will probably grab those.
  5. I'm interested. Seems like these headphones are the new hotness.
  6. I missed my window by a little bit, but even a day late you're the best, Al!
  7. Aww guys gang! This is so sweet of you all! I'll come back and hang out.
  8. Sounds great, Steve! My affection for you continues to grow.
  9. Looks great, Doug. Goodbye, torpedo shape!
  10. Bol sans, kardesim. Whatever you're selling, I'm buying.

Love it! You're a lifesaver. I just got an HD800 and a Focal Clear cable. I'm far past listening to different cables for differences, but Cardas is like the Le Creuset of their industry. I don't have to worry about whether it's the absolute best or whether it's going to break.
  12. I have fond memories of the old K1000, but I remember when Headroom couldn't sell them at MSRP, and was blowing them out for $500 a pair or so. The market for expensive headphones has grown since then, undoubtedly, but I don't think they stand a chance at $4000. It feels like a transparent cash grab, not a real product.
  13. Who can't afford to own or drive cars in SF.
  14. Biggy, I'm woefully late, but a quick happy birthday from my wife, my daughter and I. We loved seeing you last month, and look forward to many more meetings.
  15. I appreciate that, and appreciate the opportunity it afforded me to explain Dolan to my wife.
  16. That America Mohawk is something to which I can aspire, Grahame. Thank you all for the well-wishes. My wife got me an appointment in a sensory deprivation tank for my birthday, which is a phenomenal present.
  17. Evinize hos geldiniz, arkadasim

  19. I've been putting in a lot of hours with the Focal Clear on my L2 -- reasonably good match on low output impedance, very poor match on high impedance. I can't remember hearing another headphone so sensitive to high output impedance before, but it screws the bass all up. Understanding now why you make a DSHA-3F version, Doug.
  20. Edit: I posted a very fast speed, then realized I already posted here months ago. Mine is still not the fastest, so who gives a shit.
  21. I'm with Dusty, love the show. I have a longstanding affinity for Joel Kinnaman, though, so I'm biased.
  22. Agreed on both. I was listening to "I Won't Lie to You" for the second time in a row when I came to this thread. The Peter Gabriel feeling never goes away, but as Dusty alluded to it never feels bad either. No one can really "live up" to Peter Gabriel, but Francis gives it a respectable go.
  23. At the moment I work in a SCIF and can’t bring in a phone, Fitbit, etc. When I stop working with classified stuff I’ll be able to bring in whatever, but for the time being we’re pretending to stop the Russians from spying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I envy you the ability to bring electronics in to your office.
  25. You're the only one in that club with more than one amp.
