Man, I'm pretty gung-ho about DIY repairs, but I'd sooner risk getting crazy glue on my o2 than slipping a drill.
If you have access to it, you can dremel the screw into a flathead and get it out that way. Other than that, I think the krazy glue disposable screwdriver is your best bet.
A bunch of Turkish groceries:
Mount Olympus Soda
Pasta with white sheep cheese and boiling sugar syrup
Fermented black carrot juice
Red lentil patties. Like falafel, only way better.
Yeah, fo'reals. This is a great place not to skimp. If you let Steve do it right the first time, you'll have something to be proud of for a long time. I'd honestly take some photos and ask his opinion.
if it really hasn't been used at all in 10-20 years, then a channel imbalance is to be expected. The drivers are pretty near indestructable so long as you don't arc them, so I'd just run them in for a few days. The charge-up time should get shorter each repetition, and the channel imbalance will hopefully resolve itself.
I'm doing that. Works great. I'm about to finish week three, and I double the max rep if at all possible. Getting pretty hard, but I am under the impression that when it burns is when you're building muscle.
Holy capacitance, -=batman=-!
I've known some folks to techflex the flat cable, just for the look, but if I was investing money in a recable I'd just buy a 404 cable or something to that effect. Of course, I don't run a cable company, so the hell do I know.
