  1. I shall make a point to attend that meet, Sir, and admire them in person.
  2. Verily, truer words were never spoken. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have bombastic, circus-themed prog rock to enjoy
  3. Douglas, I think you might have been born in the wrong era.
  4. You, sir, are apparently allergic to fun. Or easily digestible "humour". Good sir Darwin would have found yours melancholic, I've no doubt. In conclusion: if there is hope, it lies in the proles.
  5. Shoot, I'll give that man a happy birthday. Unlike a fair number of scientists from his time, his innovations are still theoretically relevant today, in fields he wouldn't have imagined.
  6. I don't think it's unreasonable to consider it an on/off switch.
  7. How are you with stealing? Tim Rawson does a treat.
  8. "Legend of the Seeker" on Hulu. Really, really bad. Even worse than the books, which were probably also pretty bad, but I was 12 then. My wife says it reminds her of "Xena". Xena must have sucked.
  9. It should. Cavalli's design (which seems to be what they're running with) is about $200 in parts, minus case. Of course, you could always just put that shit in a -=mint tin=-.

I am about 85% certain that Knucks just sits on 4chan's /b/ all day, posting about .005% of content back here for us to enjoy. It saves me from wading through pages of child pornography at work, though, so the man is a saint in my eyes.
  11. I do so enjoy letmegooglethatforyou, though, Al. Would you deny me that pleasure?
  12. The fuck it doesn't.
  13. Genelec makes great stuff -- no doubt. If he can use them effectively at work, I'd say go that route. They are professional gear, true, but for a long time the only use for small, nearfield monitors was in a professional setting. Nothing wrong with hearing a recording the way it was mastered
  14. haha, "remote ready". Pretty much anything with IR is "remote ready" with learning remotes.
  15. Minor annoyance, here, but I wish the silkscreening on the back didn't say "XLR, optical, RCA, USB". Seems redundant. Why break the standard "AES/EBU, Toslink, S/PDIF, USB" order? The Lavry is designed as pro gear, and might be expected to receive more than one variety of data over the same cable. It would helpful to know which input is S/PDIF.
  16. 3 minutes, Steve. Record time, by all accounts.
  17. it helps to have reliable people, as we do here. Not me, of course, but Nate. He'd probably receive a pair of headphones for someone and send them along.
  18. also press Ctrl+java while logging in.
  19. Zing!
  20. I guess it could be DAC'd, ADC'd, then DAC'd again in the above circumstance. It seems illogical for windows to convert the signal to analog for processing, however, as it would just eat up cycles for no reason. My understanding was that kmixer processed the signal in the digital domain. Best to skip it altogether, if possible. ASIO straight to the soundcard.
  21. That's like leaving his coat on a chair in the meet room and calling it "attending"
  22. This just in. Ingwe smokes stems.
  23. So, wait, does that mean that no matter what John E Woven is attending? At least we have a venue, then.
