  1. You have no Mac support, Scream? Feh! This killed you for me.
  2. Didn't that McAllister FS specify that it was the "only properly working McAllister amp"? That should be a red flag right there, if ever there was one.
  3. True Blood season 2. Much better than the first season so far.
  4. No shame there, uber. Mercuttio's old pair sound great, from what I've read. you enjoying them?
  5. Gorgeous dog, Blu, but you lawn's really going downhill
  6. They should. The guy I bought them from is the original owner, bought them in 1996 and never had anything done to them. Says they've got about 100 hours on them (though I never trust a sellers hour rating unless I know them.) He was going to give them to a friend for helping him move, so the friend sold them and pocketed the cash.
  7. Vintage S or Vintage A Grado RS-1. I got them for something of a steal, considering. I'll have to check on whether the drivers are pink, but it looks like an original Vintage S from the pictures he sent. Any educated opinions?
  8. Well, feel free to PM me should you decide to start packing your own again. I have a list of essentials that no narghile smoker should go without.
  9. I love my KM, Matt. It's got a huge internal diameter, and it's rock solid. I smoke out of my Mya QT more often, since it's so easy to clean, but the KM was a good purchase. If you're in the hookah market, I can give you a few tips (should you want them).
  10. Tangiers Lucid Cherry and Al Fakher Vanilla 70/30 out of my 32" Khalil Mamoon Narghile. Smoked with a bottle of Dr. Pepper for, you know, terroir.
  11. Man, ID, at first I thought the D700 was a silly idea, but after seeing those shots I can only congratulate you on your exemplary purchase. And, of course, teh mad skillz.
  12. In my experience, veering off topic is perfectly permissable here if you're saying something of merit. You certainly have a detailed review, and it seems to fit just fine to me. Now Larry, on the other hand ...
  13. I really benefitted from that decision. My stupid huge "blanco gordo" is happily powering my moscode amp as we speak.
  14. Seriously, what the hell? Are you all posting from prison? That thing has teeth!
  15. I can see that. That's just not the story I had heard. Regardless, rap or not, I like dubstep. I'ma listen to some burial now.
  16. I'm not sure of the chip. It was a Scott Nixon design.
  17. Where else would it fall? It's an outgrowth of grime, which is clearly rap. I suppose it could be "ambient electronic", but I've heard some rappy dubstep.
  18. Rap is one of the most absolutely diverse musical styles in the world today. Especially if your definition is wide enough to include, say, hip hop, dubstep, grime, ragga, and all the other awesomeness coming out of London slums. Rap isn't consumed the same way as rock, in my opinion. It exists in a time and place, when the time and place are gone it's no longer applicable. It evolves faster than anything else. That being said, I am far from a rap snob. I listened to Ne-yo all the way home today. Fuckin' shoot me.
  19. My 150 wpc Moscode was decidedly overpowered for Staxen, as you heard. It sounded okay with the Lambda, but didn't drive the O2 properly. I doubt there will be much difference between the Moscode and the Nova, in that regard. We shall see, though. I didn't buy it for the amp. I bought it for the DAC and the pre. And the cuteness, of course.
  20. Dubai, U.A.E.
  21. Not really. The designer (not Jim) said early 2010, along with the Nova DAC/Pre. Nothing's set in stone right now.
  22. I'm really in it for the DAC, and the convenience. I'll never use it to drive large speakers. The only differences between the Nova and the Decco 2 are 40 fewer wpc, two fewer digital inputs, and no HT passthough. And, of course, 300 dollars. Same DAC, same topology, same everything else. Since I won't need more than 3 digital inputs, and since 80 wpc is gross overkill for my application, I'd sooner save the $300.
  23. well, my Nova arrives wednesday. I don't have any dynamic cans in house, but it will be employed running a transformer and a set of Lambdas. I'm hoping that 80 watts doesn't prove too much. I really should have waited a few months and picked up the Decco 2, but I didn't know about it, and I was impatient to boot.
  24. Core audio fixes the crap out of kmixer.
  25. Whatever you buy, it will be replaced by something cheaper and better before you're ready for that to happen. I adore my D90. It's comfortable and takes fantastic pictures. I'd sooner get a camera today and start shooting immediately than wait for something better to come out. You'll be a better photographer by the time your inexpensive full frame comes out, and you can sell the D90 along if you so choose.
