  1. when you have speakers positioned correctly, the sound doesn't seem to come from just the speakers, but rather from all over. The same thing happens, to a degree, with headphones. Soundstage is the impression that you're watching real performers, not listening to headphones.
  2. Listened to Mercan Dede on recommendation from Smeggy last night and can't stop. I now own everything he's done under that name. I'm also trying to work my way through Bowie.
  3. Your enthusiasm is both delightful and abrasive. I feel old.
  4. Every morning I show up to work, I dream of working somewhere they would fire me for the lousy job I do. It's still better than they expect from me, however, so every day I leave with a job.
  5. Seeing as how speakers have magnets AND high concentrations of heavy metals, I'd say that's a resounding yes.
  6. ^^^ Understood. I'd argue that the balanced output from the 0404 doesn't sound like crap, but there are those who'd disagree with me. I wouldn't use it as my end-all-be-all source in a balanced rig (or any rig), but if you purchased it for SE use then later upgraded your amp, it serves as a very effective stopgap. It's a better SE source at $150 than most. That it also does balanced is just icing to me.
  7. Alright, excellent. It's essentially a proprietary DSP plugin. Also, hey speaking of witch doctors, this guy treated my coworker's dog from 120 miles away yesterday over the phone.
  8. $150 is a good deal. I'm betting on opamp shenanigans, considering, but it's pretty handy nonetheless. I mean, honestly, you're getting a DAC with USB/Coax/Spdif input, Coax/Spdif output, two analog inputs (SE or balanced) with variable gain, Dual outputs (one balanced), a 24/192 ADC, and a seperately adjustable headamp in one box. Surely, that's useful for something you hoodlums do.
  9. Somehow Amarra has gone completely over my head. Could one of you fine gentlemen give me the quick non-sales-pitch rundown of why I would want this?
  10. Devil you know, man. Screw that noise and get a KGSS.
  11. Man, for the price difference, you can get a 220V unit (or what have you) and buy a PS Audio P300 to power it. No voltage issues, full warranty.
  12. Unless you jailbroke, in which case you'd have had tethering for a year now.
  13. I googled this, and came up with a page that sells only this, replica war medals, and jars of heinous-looking mustard. Seems a great buy
  14. Oh damn you straight to hell How do they sound? Oh so nice?
  15. The snout folds up for apples.
  16. Hey Dan, happy birthday!
  17. ^^ ^^ Hate to hear that. My car is a money pit as well, and I feel for you. May as well get it all done since they've pulled the thing apart for the t-belt, though.

Some more hesitant consumers of casu marzu (myself included) prefer to place the cheese in a sealed bag prior to eating it. The CO2 builds up quickly, suffocating the larvae, and they jump and hit the sides of the bag before dying. It's lot holding a bag of microwave popcorn while it's in the microwave. If they're freshly dead, the cheese isn't toxic. Bad news? Not so delicious.

    I can rectify this disparity.
  22. Make sure to add some ADRENALINE!
  23. Well you're off the list
  24. Easy for you to say, you already have a kid
  25. Nte, either you are a very handsome man or you're batting way out of your league, because that child is absolutely adorable. Same goes for you, Pete. Share those pickup lines, fellas. Chris needs them.
