  1. Plus the whole artist thing. Straight men hate art.
  2. It's really going to piss people off, having to get used to the left-handed bass.
  3. Twilight Rifftrax. I am white, yes, and also a dork, but my word if that wasn't a transcendent experience. Do check it out.

    Oh yes. Oh wonderful.
  5. neither does the mono, any longer.
  6. Exactly, though you should probably just buy both box sets, since you might prefer the stereo master on any given track. Or just get Abbey Road and Let It Be in stereo, and forget they ever made Yellow Submarine
  7. Here's the story. The majority of the albums were mono only originally. The only "official" version of all but the last three albums (IIRC) is the mono version, as the mono version is the only one the Beatles had any hand in mastering. Many of the early stereo versions of the albums are awful -- undynamic, vocals panned hard right, drums hard left, etc. It's felt by many that the mono versions are both better-sounding and more authentic. Mono isn't terribly bad, anyhow. It remains to be seen what the remastered early albums will sound like in stereo. I hear a good deal about them being based on the 1987 versions, which I find reasonable enough. All I know for sure is that the version of "Revolver" I heard today was fantastic. It sounded like a modern record.
  8. Every time someone bumps this thread I pray for leaks.
  9. Tell it to John grado, man. I don't make the rules.
  10. Clearly you missed the memo, Stretch, but all letter "i"s associated with the HF-2 are to be spelled with "1"s from here on out.
  11. Glad to hear that, Birgir. My impressions of them under meet conditions were very similar. Gobs of resolution, like a 404, without as much of the etch. What amount is there is easily within my tolerances of enjoyment.
  12. Or, in seriousness, phase the projects. Start with a smaller workforce for the initial phase.
  13. ^^ I second this. While DACs do have different "sounds", the real difference to me is resolution. The more resolving/revealing/detailed, the better. The amp (and more importantly the transducer) should do the job of presenting those details in a way you find pleasing.
  14. Man, Chris, that's awful. Here's hoping your cat finds it way back home quickly!
  15. Worked like a charm, Larry. Thanks!
  16. Same story, only no kids. I promise not to be an absentee team owner, friends.

I don't find it retardedly ridiculous at all. I was disappointed with how quickly they dispensed with Godric, but characters like Lafayette make it for me.
  18. 1) I've never had any issues with MAX, but I've never looked too deeply into this. I use it to rip and convert, and have probably done about 75 discs so far with only 1 issue (and I doubt it was Max's fault) 2) Holy shit that's a pretty mixed bag of trouble. Have fun, man.
  19. You could do it as a big batch in MAX, could you not? What format is it in now?
  20. Pair #2? I thought you were trying to sell pair #1?
  21. Awesome work, Doug! Way to avoid the workplace for yet another year!
  22. So long as they bring their rigs, I'll let 'em in.
  23. The smoke plume is in my state now, just like an ever-expanding number of your citizens. Go back to where you belong, all of you!
  24. It wouldn't in that case, but Stretch was trying to sort out high bitrate albums from low bitrate copies of the same album. Also, shame on anyone who needledrops in 16/44. How else are we to justify 24/192 DACs?
