  1. Very sorry to hear about your father. I hope he experiences some brief reprieve, and I hope you're around to enjoy it. On a sidenote, I'd love to hear your impressions of Dubai. I was there for a week or two 2 years ago, and took a real shine to it, but that's when it was on top of the world.
  2. If anyone made that statement about the Ed. 8s, I would have assumed it to be Dinan. His gushing over the ed. 8 was something of a disappointment to me, truth be told.
  3. It's -4 F here in balmy Colorado today, and the JH13 fare just fine. The cables are pretty much like bent paperclips, and I honestly did 0 research into whether it's advisable to have the drivers outdoors in this temperature, but they played music real purty.
  4. Got caught up on Dexter. FUCK YES.
  5. Will test. In any case, the lighting coming out of my ears is minimal.
  6. Just a bit transparent. I can make out armatures inside the pieces with them in my hand, but you can't see anything inside them when they're in your ear (or, rather, someone else's ears)
  7. Shoot, Monkey, I haven't put up any fresh Muddy Water Blue pics. Mine are solid, not trans, but I think they're very attractive. No color, including black, is really less stealthy than any other, so I'd not worry about that. MWB is a rich looking color, though -- I'm glad I went with it. Plus, of course, it moves the forum as a whole one step closer to complete rig homogeneity.
  8. Hey, at least he's using it now.
  9. This is a good (if mislabeled) example. You have to hook that loop over your ear, so it's pretty obvious (after a week or two) which side is which. Of course, the serial number and your initials are also automatically printed in red or blue on the inward-facing side of each piece.

Skip the cutting block and get a knife bar instead. Those are really excellent knives, btw
  11. Can do, sir! I'll need to take some first, though.
  12. Even without colors, it's easy to tell the sides apart by feel. I put mine on in the dark all the time, and have no issue. Just like how you feel for the rod on a pair of Grados, you feel for the cable entries on JH13s.
  13. the Tauntaun bag! I love it so much.
  14. You're dating yourself. I now know that you're not 14.
  15. Well, it's "possible".
  16. Amen to that, Nate. Her vocals routinely clip out very harshly, and the dynamics in general are really not up to par. Every time I'm anticipating some glorious crescendo my hopes are dashed by clipping instead. The music, however, has really gotten a hold of me as of late.
  17. Just checking in here at week 9 or so. I'm pretty sure Jesus returned to Earth last night and personally invited me to quit this mortal coil and dwell with Him in peace for all eternity, but I had my 13s in and it was halfway through Regina Spektor's "Far" and I decided to finish the album instead.
  18. I'm talking bass terms here. A 2-note chord is traditionally referred to only by its interval in common slang. i.e. play an 11th at the 6th fret, etc. What we lack in class, sophistication and proper usage of terms, we make up for in... hmm....
  19. Open mouth with a bite block. They fit great, if not a little loose.
  20. He seems to be the one who repeats it to himself out loud the most often
  21. Goddamnit there is an actual office chair thread at HF that people apparently register over there for specifically. Some people only have posts in that thread.
  22. Two notes is an "interval". Other than that, I pretty much agree
  23. I maintain that Nate is the only sane one for having tried the Universals and turned them down. The rest of you nonbelievers are in denial.
  24. x2. What would I do with another pair? I am sick.
