  1. Agreed, Dan. He is past the point of senility, and long past the point of having good enough hearing to be trusted. He was a titan in this business, to be sure, but that time has passed. Currently, his work preys upon the worst tendencies of "audiophiles" -- what if it could sound better with some magic?
  2. Frabjous.
  3. That B&W Ebony is beautiful. Just stunning.
  4. Just polished off my personal bottle of Ardbeg Uigedail last night, after being turned on to its magnificence at MOA II. Never a better liquid has passed my lips.
  5. I shall maintain the Silver bulwark. Silver forever, semper fi.
  6. Just heard Alt-J have a new one coming out in September. Looking forward to it.
  7. I am here in Beijing, yeah. Of course, as you've alluded to, the fun is in doing it yourself. If I get in a bind, though, it would be an exciting excursion to take a half-built electrostatic amp to 中关村 and learn some new vocab。 I hope that it is not necessary, but I really appreciate the courtesy, sir. It's nice to know that, if all else fails, someone who knows what they are doing will have a look at it.
  8. I am interested in these boards as well. Looking for something to build, and something to drive my 007A. Please be warned, though -- so far I've only successfully assembled a keyboard and a tube clock. If you agree to loop me in for boards, you expose yourselves to a litany of questions about resistor directions, troubleshooting, casework, etc. I'll do my best to be a gentleman.
  9. ^^^ this. 14 year old Tyler would hardly believe it, but there might be such a thing as too much gratuitous sex. In fact, I think that actually is the definition of gratuitous. I do like the show, but I feel it teetering on the brink of losing itself in long, hazy reverie sequences.
  10. You people need to set your fucking avatars.
  11. God dammit, we are good at this.
  12. Check. I look forward to it. Thanks, Birgir.
  13. I grabbed those 007A's. I did very little research before hand. What is to be done to make this model as good as it can be? Is there a port to be modded, cable replaced, driver housing doped with craft foam, etc,?
  14. Linden, you're my ride, yo.
  15. Oh no no, we must keep them. They are fantastic. My favorite one was where he called us poor. Second favorite is where he linked to the sunglasses he wanted to wear with his headphones. He stumbled into the best possible place for help and burned his bridges in the same day.
  16. Hey Larry, just saw it. I wrote you back.
  17. Hoo boy. PM sent.
  18. I remember when Alex and Sankar didn't even have a working prototype, and I took them out to Larkburger for lunch. They weren't quite flush enough to order fries. It's hard for me to wish them anything but the best of luck.
  19. They are welcome to stop right after I've bought some.
  20. Head-fi usually asks for 2000 posts of burn in. After that, you're allowed to buy some headphones.
  21. And here's the issue, to some degree. Everyone here has owned (or at least heard) every notable thing AKG has ever made. K1000, K340, K240, K701, etc. I even have a K81DJ, which was first heralded as "the closed Grado". We know the lineup, and for the most part don't care about anything but the 340/240 and the K1000, all of which are out of production. There's nothing wrong with your journey through headphones, we all made one more or less in public, but this is a tough place to grow up. If you want to stay, be warned that anything related to your "kopfhörersroman" (You are welcome, Dusty) will be met with some skepticism. Also, the notion of burn in is total bullshit.
  22. Amen, Peter. I effing love that show. I would let Joel Kinnaman crash on my couch any time.
  23. The shotgun tissue box with a shell nearby is awesome.

    Guitar-Case

Looks smexy. I like the less-goofy style of the horn there as compared to the fly.

    Is that a Parker?
