Have a great one, David! Enjoy a coconut on me.

I'm looking at 2 weeks for prime, but it's my own fault.

Just Bear. Mr. Bear is his father.

As you may have noticed, I was also the first person on this forum to welcome you, as it were. You knew who we were coming in, and if you didn't you have the welcome PM. If you want to shake things up, so be it. There's no future in it. I used to work for an AM talk radio show, screening calls for the host. Callers would often work up a head of steam over some issue, and try to talk over the host. He would entertain it for a while, but if they didn't quickly settle into reasonable discussion, they were muted. The wiser among us will either beat you into submission or mute you, but I foolishly gave you a chance.

^^^What man wears a unisex diamond-pattern purse? What woman cares about headphones?

I tried to get my personal keyboard cleared through work, and was not allowed. They said that they could procure one, if I had a doctor's note. Hah. At this point, I probably dislike work keyboards more than I ever did, and possibly more than I like the one I have at home. I have learned to type faster, though, after learning touch typing.

Not a fan, already. Paul McGowan is of course the founder of PS audio, and someone whose design credentials are known. His kid on the other hand: 1) Is the company's marketing director 2) Is busy saving for a wedding and not buying audio equipment Here's a gem... "But wattage, voltage, signal-to-noise ratio, interconnects, EQ controls, output impedance? I feel your pain. Don't get discouraged." It's all a pitch, obviously -- whether he actually understands what he is doing and just adopts this position as a pitch, or whether someone else designs it and he's the spokesmodel is not important. I'm just grouchy, and think that an established company using kickstarter to help generate free buzz for a product they've already developed is crappy. In 5 years, kickstarter (or whatever killed it) will not allow this kind of campaign.

Perfect. Thanks. We are tastemakers, after all.

A dude in Venice custom designed some keycaps and I bought them, and I spent 10 bucks and some of my own time to buy and install little silicone rings to change the sound of typing. I feel terrible about myself.

He called us girls! Seriously, though, you have perhaps come to the wrong place to sell your product. Would a mod be willing to delink the referral in his original post? I'd hate to think that Head-Case generated a single click for this guy. Other than that, stay if you like. Everyone is welcome until they are banned.

Sounds eminently sensible. By then, we'll have enough orders to get them under 10 quid.

This is the last father's day where I'll not be a father. I have a little girl coming this September. Hooray!
-
You better have enough HP-1000 left for me to eventually buy one.

I just bought a bunch of new pans today for ~$5 from a Chinese hotel supplier. Fingers crossed.

Good thing you're back, too. We need your knife skills. Brent is not going to be able to keep the foot.

I am intrigued by the larger drivers enough to grab a pair. I deeply hate the 1/8" connectors, though. If you're going to wear WWII-era headspeakers out in public, you should complete the look with a needlessly complicated dual cable and adapter. Likewise, if you're listening at home and have an amp with a mini plug, you should be made to suffer. Also, we all know that bringing back the PS-1 would never work. Even if it sounded the same, it would not sound the same.

What does a retailer with "i" stock do? Sow seeds of doubt on the forums?

Stax SRM-006T plus Kimik or new SRM-323S
Sherwood replied to Martyn73's topic in Headphone Amplification
1) It is clear that you will not be staying with one amplifier (or pair of headphones) long, certainly not long enough to warrant replacing tubes. Whether it is "cheaper to run" seems like a ridiculous metric, then, as you'll only replace them in search of a different sound. 2) There is no good reason to use "souvenir" as a test track. It is terribly recorded, and not indicative of the true performance of any piece of equipment. That you mention it by name is evidence that you should spend more time listening to your system before agonizing about it. Unless you're designing a system specifically to play Souvenir by Organized Maneoueuouevres in the Dark, in which case you should leave now. 3) You almost certainly don't need new tubes. You need to learn how to bias an amp. Look here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/415385/tube-change-biasing-a-stax-006t-ii 4) You're right on the edge, here. Please read your welcome message again, and dwell upon it. -
I'll send you my pink driver, black aluminum SR-325 some time. It sounds like you might be in love.

And the entire last episode was in gauzy media res. Done with it. There is no time for bad tv when so much of it is so good.
-
No vinyl rig, thankfully, but I picked up Lazaretto. The recording itself lacks punch, but I love the music.
-
Didn't realize you had a website, Birgir. Went to google it -- hit #4. Ain't that some schiit.

You're right, Joe probably would. Crazy old coot. Who yells at Ryan?

I know there's a lot of animosity toward John, perhaps because Grado's best headphones were Joe's, not John's, but I think it deserves to be mentioned that running a profitable headphone business out of the U.S. that has no style whatsoever is not easy. I don't know how John does it, but he does. Also, my RS-1s are fantastic, and that's John's doing. Bears mentioning, even if this is not the John Grado thread.
