  1. If you want a Dell, buy a Mini 12. According to the specs it is much more usable and also has a new hardware. I suppose it will worth the extra cash. The MSI Wind U120 is probably the best at this moment, but the U115 is coming and that will have a newer, more advanced hardware like the Mini 12, but with hybrid storage (faster and more efficient) so I think worth waiting for it. We had to buy one laptop before the end of the year so it was a fairly easy decision. The U120 is almost the same as the U100 but looks less cutsy The keyboard and screen is really good, the touchpad less so. The thing that it is built for a price does show in a few places. The noise levels are kept low. Overall I think it's good value.
  2. MSI Wind U120
  3. I have been watching the ESW10 at pricejapan quite frequently and the price in EUR has gone down about 10 percent. But the dollar is getting weaker so I guess that's a different story.
  4. I would mainly like to use it with two Creative Aurvana Live! for movies (I won't use it with the ESW10) But I also like to see if the 'recable makes it much better' thing is a ripoff or not (I think it is cheap and simple enough to experiment with it and in this way it is easier the compare if the SQ doesn't suffer). I think I will modifiy one to a 'bass-light' version. The question is which one should I buy: Grado, Kimber or something which is cheaper.
  5. Is there any difference (besides the price) between 1/4 splitters? Like Kimber or Grado or noname. I am planning to use it with a Gilmore Lite so power shouldn't be a problem, the question is sound quality. Thanks.
  6. I suppose so because no pressure on the head at all, at least for her. But if it's a postwhore I am sorry and I will not try uploading a better pic
  7. What I especially like is that all of them were plugged straight into a Nano, probably the best mp3 player ever made...
  8. Oh my...
  9. No, because I don't feel as comfortable with these as she does
  10. Here is a photo exclusively made for Head-case (sorry, but the weather is very bad so I had to use the flash)
  11. How does it compare with the Gilmore Lite?
  12. Should I mention Demonoid here, it is very good for getting music you might not find on other places. p.s.: I have an invitation code for somebody who desperately needs it
  13. I heard that Stax released some dummy head recording (or binaural) demo CDs in the past. Anyone heard them? And where can I get one? Thanks.
  14. So should I look on these: FS: Millett Hybrid w/ Discrete Diamond Buffer - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio FS: Maxxed Millet Max - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio Or the Starving Student is different to these two?
  15. I wouldn't put my finger on it but I saw an SR-something with Omega II pads installed on the other forum (it is a huge thread so finding it is not so easy).
  16. Did it had the chinese tube or the new better one that are in the sell? Also is it easy to run one Millett from EU voltage?
  17. Thanks for the info. I don't care if it looks crap if it sounds good. The same is also true for my Aurvana Live! because I think besides the driver unit everything else looks and feels cheap. Sort of the product one buys at a hypermarket. At least it is cheap and sounds suprisingly good
  18. You always say that I actually want to give my ESW10s another chance because most people say it is better with an amp. If they do improve, I'll keep them even it is not very comfortable for me.
  19. Anyone tried this amp? So far only positive opinions appeared on the other site and that it has great synergy with ATH-ESW10JPN. At the moment it is 299$ (excluding shipping) and comes with 12AU7 RCA Cleartop NOS tube. Should I give it a try? Thanks.
  20. I found a local deal - again. This time it is an almost new CA 840C. Price is about 750 EUR (negotiable). As I've read it can be used as a DAC quite easily. What do you think, should I go for it?
  21. The V6.0 will be much cheaper than the ECD-1, wonder if it has the same internals.
  22. I think I settle with a DacMagic for now (it's about 230 EUR here), the exchange rate makes the others much more expensive. I know that my Stax deserves a better source but it will be better than nothing. The other one I am looking at is the Abrahamsen DAC but it will only come out in January 2009 with an estimated pricetag of 475 EUR.
  23. I just saw the SR-3 on ebay. The T1S has a normal bias plug too, so it's tempting
  24. Thanks for the useful impressions.
  25. I owned them too, couldn't agree with you more. And I use them unamped compared to D2000 (Pico). But while I was waiting to get them it became clear that they need to go.
