The Atom is no speed-freak, that's for sure. However, a netbook is excellent for music listening, especially with great little DACs like the Pico or the Gamma-1.

Summer, I suppose. I think the ION is better suited to small desktop PCs because it won't have the same low power consumption as the GN40.

I have the MSI Wind U120 and it is a perfectly fine netbook (if a bit cheaply made, but very cheap), however if I wanted to buy a new netbook now, I would rather wait for the new GN40 chipset with the updated CPU. Much better energy consumption and a huge boost in graphics performance.

I've been thinking...how about the amp section of the Pico? Would I get the same harshness with it as with the GLite?

I decided not to give up on the SR-X and with a tweak similar to Asr's Qualia mod (putting something between the headband and the top of my head) and by replacing the old pads I think I might get fair comfort. No, I won't post pictures about it

Okay, so that means I either have to replace either the headphones or the amp. Question is, which one needs to go. Pity that here in the middle of Europe I have absolutely no chance to hear anything else than what I actually buy. I think I need a closed headphone because most of the time the environment is not noise-free (that's my main problem with the LNS).

I have bought a normal bias version not so long ago. Sounds wonderful, but I also found it unforgiving, compared to the the LNS. Trouble is, my ears turn red even after a short listening, I tried adjusting it but the fit is just hopeless for me

I don't think so, because I guess the normal bias SR-X doesn't have the deep bass extension of the 4070.

I've read that the APS V3 recable also lessens the treble, so maybe that could also be a solution(I would rather not sell the GLite). In most of the recordings, this problem is not apparent and it sounds amazing, but in some piano music, it can really ruin the experience (especially considering that the piano tone on this headphone is really good).

Today I could try the ESW10s with the Gilmore Lite, and it does not seem to be a very good match, because sometimes there is too much treble energy(otherwise it has been noticeably improved over using it unamped). I used them with my friend's Meridian 208 CD player because the Pico DAC is still at least a few weeks away. Maybe I should try a Milett Hybrid or something else, what do you think?

Yes I know, but at the moment I have no intention to use speakers at all and I think the GLite would be OK for a while. And also after that I will have no money left...
