  1. New Omega prototype (?, doesn't look prototype to me, probably close to production)
  2. I would pass it, the SRM-3 is said to be one of the worst amps, an SRM-1 Mk2 should be much better.
  3. Depending on the condition, yes. But come SR-X sets are plagued with arcing on the drivers (creates imbalance). But if this one was only driven with a direct drive amp, there shouldn't be any issues. Oh, and they are not comfortable - at least for me..
  4. Later on I imagine this amp combined with the new 24/96 USB DAC in a slightly bigger form factor, it would be a worthwhile replacement for the Pico AMP/DAC.
  5. Enjoy your stay - while it lasts.
  6. Yes, I guess a better deal can be found (like that SR-Lambda I posted earlier which is a bit pricey but comes with a better amp as well, if not Pro bias) but if you could buy from the directly I guess it would be similar as buying one from the auction (as you skip the deputy fees and domestic shipping) but the main problem is the exchange rate being too bad.
  7. Anybody tried buying anything from here directly? I emailed them a few times but never got a reply but the prices are listed in EUR and USD as well. This might be good: SRS-2050A
  8. STAX SR LAMBDA EARSPEAKERS (Headphones)+SRM-1/MK2 AMP on eBay (end time 12-Oct-10 21:03:39 BST)
  9. Probably gone, but: Koss ESP950 Headphones
  10. Depending on how high it will go - but yes the condition is not good.. The advantage of buying a Basic set is that the shipping cost is considerably lower. I used Japonica Market last time and I had no trouble, I only had to pay the deputy fees plus the shipping cost. It was quite fast and I got free domestic shipping as well (I got the item from the Fujiya Avic shop, don't know if they still offer this or not). Pity the exchange rate isn't any better.
  11. Speaking of which, a new Basic set (srs-2170) from Japan + a wallwart PSU locally wouldn't be a bad choice either (even if the exchange rate sucks at the moment).
  12. Another vote for the SR-Lambda here, patience will pay off.
  13. Happy Birthday Wayne!
  14. Two new products have been released, the SRS-005S and the SRS-2170 [url=http://blog.joshinweb.jp/ichinose/2010/09/stax.html]
  15. It looks like an AH-D1100 that supposedly has aluminium housing and 50 mm drivers (angled) but with the wooden cups. The 510R uses smaller drivers.
  16. Output stage.. But after the mod, does it become better than the rest?
  17. Nope, the OII (SR-007) construction is sturdier.
  18. Not the same, but: Classical Demo Disc 1 Electrostatic Headphones Demo Disc The Classical part 2 has been uploaded before, don't know if it is still active.

  20. Somebody wants a little discount on an SR-507? SECOND HANDS
  21. All Lambdas look hideous (when worn anyway) so on that basis, a Sigma is better offers moar of the same Stax, bring it back with new housing and these drivers, do you hear me??
  22. Is this a factory repaired SR-X Mk3? Never seen one with a flat cable by default. Stax ★ ★ SR-X MARK3
  23. 73500 yen and it's yours if I saw it right. They say new materials in the drivers (not surprising). I'd rather be interested in a fully black Sigma 507
  24. Yes, it is in the right thread now.
