  1. I think the O2 is musical enough on his own and the 717 somewhat warm for a SS amp anyway so that is what I suggest. My friend and I didn't find the exstata to be good with the O2. The advantage of the K1000 is that you can get a very good amp for it which you can use for speakers as well. I would say though that some K1000s sound quite a bit better than others and it is not just a question of being a bass heavy or bass light pair. So hope you have one that sounds really good hard to determine unless you have more than one side by side )
  2. Or just get a better amp for the SR007 than the exstata, it will improve markedly.
  3. So you can make a similar photo to this one
  4. Does the honky midrange still exist on this one?
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. Which is exactly why I used " " The point is, that I think that the old black MK2 replacement pad might not be the same as the new one which they put on the newer MK2 phones as well by default.
  7. Maybe the pads that make some difference as there was a revision there, now there is a "universal" replacement pad for the SR007/SR007A and in the past there were separate pads for the two. Of course it could be that they just renamed it but I think the leather used was a bit different.
  8. Happy Birthday Milos!
  9. The Stereophile review has some measurements as well
  10. You can drop by
  11. Nope the KGSSHV is considerably more powerful than the SRM727 which is considerably more powerful than the SRM600. The SRM007t which is a bit similar to the SRM600 can't drive the O2 Mk1 properly so I wouldn't recommend it.
  12. I'm interested in the chassis as well.
  13. Count me in for the next board run. Thanks.
  14. Berkeley Audio Design has come up with one as well, also uses StreamLength (really pricey though)
  15. It would be far simpler with a digital input though (much simpler less variables in the signal chain as well) wish I could try it. The guy who wrote the first impression about it uses it with SR-Omega (says the better the headphone the better the effect).
  16. Same type of wood as with the SR-Omega, I am sure it will look great.
  17. Short impression by Sasaki
  18. I am interested as well.
  19. I guess that is not likely because unfortunately the US retail price is significantly higher.
  20. In Thailand they did make a group buy on it but it is unknown how much discount they managed to squeeze (but it was less than 4000$).
  21. Stax SR-009 pre-order price in Japan
  22. Laptopmag & Engadget reviews
  23. Audiophilleo looks interesting as well, plus the WaveLink HS and the Halide Design Bridge as well.
  24. Anybody saw this design? Looks pretty simple. (guy also built a DIY T2) http://d.hatena.ne.jp/inuponken/20100806/1281052930
