  1. Fang is in the process of putting up a page for them as we speak. The price is being quoted as $999.00. He had mentioned at the NYC meet as bundled prices of $1350-$1500 with either the SS or tubed amp. http://www.head-direct.com/products.php?m=11 I have them in my possesion, so I will take some pics at different angles for all to see in this thread if anyone wants.
  2. Fang told me that he was going to start a product page on the stats today, so it's in it's infant stage.
  3. I used to repair Xerox machines and many a time we found mouse shit and bones in the fuser module. Evidently they liked the warmth, but reeked havoc on copy quality. A giant $390,000 mouse trap. Talk about over-engineering.
  4. Used car and insurance salesman. Update- I have a borrowed pair of the Chinese clones, and they are definitely worth the money. The build quality is not up to HE-90 standards (although the Orpheus swivel cups seem like an afterthought) but for the money, anyone who enjoys an electrostat should have one of these in their stable. I really can't say anything bad about the HEAUDIO 1.2 's except for some exposed wiring inside that could cause a hair raising experience. So far so good.
  5. OK...It's been 20 minutes. Quit fucking around and snap some pics. Wow, that was the first time I said "fuck" on a forum, and I must admit it feels good. Hope sisters and mothers aren't reading this
  6. Traitors and turncoats, that's what they are!
  7. I matched all of my livingroom furniture to my speakers (entertainment stand, computer table, CD racks, fish tank stand, and so on). Vienna Acoustics in Beech all around.
  8. Johnnie Numbs...Birth-er-roni. Have an excellent day, dude.
  9. I just did a search for Head-Fi on Facebook and all that comes up is a meet in Manchester England. Can someone tell me the correct path?
  10. My Hotmail account has run dry without notices to my subscriptions. I'm hoping you guys can entertain me and give me my fix without berating me at the same time. Oh, fuck-it. Berating is another form of attention.
  11. It was scary how good the Duos sounded with the Dared's at that meet. The Duo's were set up in a room that was an echo chamber and the tubed Dared's tamed the Avantgarde's nicely with very little power.
  12. They sounded pretty good. They had a solid bass that falls in between the HE-90 and HE-60, leaning more towards the 60. I found them to be too bright during some crescendos on some of my reference CD's, spoke to Fang about it and he said the SS amp only had a couple of hours on it. So I took them over to Jack's GES and as BB King would say, "The shrill was gone" I own an upgraded version of Woo's GES and am thinking seriously about buying a pair of the clones (should be available in 2 months). I need to demo them at home in a quiet room before pulling the trigger. Even though Fang is pure vendor at meets, I've had many interactions with him, and he's one of the good guys. Usually gives away a lot of stuff at meets. Got a pair of PK-1's at one meet last year and his cheaper $39 pair of VSONIC VS-R02 (now my daughter's) at a second meet. He's a "Type B" kinda saleman.
  13. Believe it or not, Fang said $1350 with the SS amp, and $200 more with the soon to be tube version.
  14. Also, in the back of the pic you can spy a Trekstor Vibez 12 gig DAP. I didn't get to hear it, but it fits nicely in one hand, has a great interface and one of the nicest and smallest HD mp3 players I've seen. That version is expensive compared to a 80 gig Ipod though...$249. I want one, but there are lots of things I want.
  15. These are Warrior05's wooden docks. He does the wood work and he also made the stand next to them. Him and swt51 do some work together. They do not have V-Caps in them. He uses a Teflon cap (not sure which brand). He also uses a USB input powered by an AC>DC adapter with either RCA or 1/8" outputs (hence the 2 different docks). He's pretty cool people. Anyone have a picture of the Dared MP-5 > TR2 > H2 setup? BTW- They sounded dark and cavernous because they have new thicker prototype pads on them that causes the bass to get wooly and the midrange to recess. The H2's with the original pads sound a lot better, but they fall off of your head if you move. A meet is not the proper place to demo these as with the K1000's.
  16. Trinidad Pelau, dumplings and curried stewed chicken. Brrrrrrrrrrp!
  17. My Mapleshades Isoblocks (combination of 2 layers of grooved rubber sadwiching a layer of cork) left un-removable lines on my wooden audio stand shelves. I'm not defending or attacking, but I had them there under a Stax 007t for only 3 weeks and that amp is not heavy and doesn't give off much heat. It is the oil in the rubber and I guess the nature of the beast. Right now, I have a Zana Deux on the top shelf of my livingroom audio furniture and while it sounds quite nice, it produces enough heat to fuel a small country. The chassis is used as a heat sink. The Rudistor RP-33 is solid state and also got extremely hot...to the point that I couldn't keep it.
  18. It's all Chris Rock's fault. I believe he said, "Damn...that amp is so good, it's gunna set the house on fire!" Can't always take Chris' comments so literally, except for keeping our daughters off the pole.
  19. I feel initiated y tu tambien.
  20. It wasn't refuted right away because I don't live on the internet and it was my first time back to the thread. "Diplomatic phrasings" are not commonplace here so why should I have chosen that path? I was clarifying, not backpedaling. I can't backpedal...I'm a mt. biker....I would just roll back down the hill and fall down
  21. Maybe I need to clarify my statement. I am a hippie and not a violent person. My point was that if someone who does not know me, calls me a "fucking idiot" I would like to see that person face to face, have him look me in the eye and then call me that! I don't think that statement was warranted because of what I said to Filburt. It is true that in the last couple of months, everytime there is a R.S. thread, Filburt seems to manage a way to put Ray down. I merely questioned why he felt the need to do that...it was not just that particular post I was referring to, it was a series of posts. To be called a fucking idiot by someone who doesn't know me or who has never dealt me was extreme, and it is easy to sit miles away in front of your computer and zing people. Violence was not my intention, and never is unless I am physically attacked. You complain about rules and regulations at Head-Fi (of which I mostly never get involved in) and yet eventually, starting with this page, Head-Case might eventually become just like it. Rules are created because of events that happen. Street lights are put up on corners that never had one because of one accident. Nothing would have been solved if I just called Tiberian a fucking idiot, back at him. Just the fact that I have to respond to Edipis' post shows that Head-Case will eventually need some sort of barometer to keep things going for the future.
  22. No veil here...I am not a HD-600. When someone calls me a fucking idiot, I would like to meet that person eye to eye, not hiding behind a computer screen. This is Head-Case right? Anything can be said here.
  23. I'm a fucking idiot? Glad you you let me know...all this time I thought I had some semblance of intelligence. Math was my best subject in military school. Perhaps we need to meet one day to discuss this in person.
  24. Do you have a link? Thank you. I guess I'll wait and see if they do anything for the P500 further down the line. The MultiWave Auto is a great feature. Also after reading the VPI SDS literature I realized I can use the P500 for a motor controller that works similarly as the SDS but I have to keep it set on 60 htz for use with asynchronous motors. I can't change the htz setting to play 12" 45rpm because it would screw everything else up.
  25. Do you have a link?
