RIP Super Marty. ?

The second half of this year's Mattnog was consumed at my family Christmas dinner last night. I feel bad that I forgot the nutmeg shavings at the Stretch Christmas gathering because it really does add to the experience. This year confirmed that I need to make a batch every year. Next year I'm going with top shelf booze across the board. And some super farm-fresh eggs. It's a nice tradition and a good way to remember Matt the Younger in a positive way. And Fitz, you can't fuck this up if you follow the recipe. Go for it in 2019!

Hey MPI, it's been awhile. What's up?

Have a great one Ken! Cheers!

Surprised that Penny Marshall's death at age 75 wasn't noted here. I grew up watching Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, and was impressed by her directing career. RIP Laverne. Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!...

Just got word that they are out of stock after all, and refunded my order placed shortly after yours, I imagine.

Cartoons are an exception, most of the time.

Happy birthday to a real mensch! Have a great one Todd. Cheers!

I watched with subtitles and enjoyed it a lot overall. I happened on an episode with the dubbed dialog and it seemed lame. I also enjoyed most of Buster Scruggs, including the namesake opener. I love the Coens, so it was a likely win.

Dubbed or subtitles?

That was definitely the slickest Neko show I've seen. Her man friend / baby daddy / guitar tech Jeff brought out or took away a guitar every song. Big wall of sound emphasizing the vocals and harmonies, with up to five guitars playing at once. It was a solid retrospective of her music and she loves the Bay Area so she and the band were ramen-drunk and loosey-goosey in her words. My favorite line was that school night rock is the dirtiest rock in town. She thanked is for being bad with her. It seemed pre-arranged, but they did five songs for an encore. Best part of the night, however, was that they banned photography and recording and told people to keep their phones down to respect their neighbors and to enjoy the show in real time. People actually respected it throughout, except the two people in front of me couldn't help themselves in the encore and took some shots. I hope @en480c4 is going to see her next month...

Did you have impure thoughts about a minor? (When you were a minor?)

I was into F Troop as a syndicated rerun. I just learned from the Howard Stern show today that Melody Patterson lied that she was 18 when she got the part as Wrangler Jane. She was only 15 when she started as Ken Berry's love interest.

Unexpectedly bummed out by the unexpected death of Paul Sherwen, professional cyclist and, more importantly to me, cycling commentator. Sad that I won't see him beside long time partner Phil Liggett any more because they have commentated all of the Tours de France I have followed starting in the late 80s. He competed in 7 and commentated in 33. Commentate in peace, Mr Sherwen. https://www.npr.org/2018/12/03/672806336/paul-sherwen-renowned-cycling-commentator-dies-at-62
