  1. ^^^Me too, Dusty, although the bottom one is my fave. I could actually hear the 4070s "loosening" a bit during the first few hours. I was comparing them to the O2s that are on their way to Deepak today. At first, the 4070 seemed more muted than the O2 -- and for me that is saying something. But they opened up over time and sounded more like what I recalled from Wayne's pair and the ones I heard at CanJam. I am very happy and can now have a wife-approved e-stat bedside rig! More impressions more later.
  2. I hadn't specified who was stalker and who was stalkee.
  3. Stalker!
  4. Don't listen to the bad man, Flipper, it can't be true!
  5. Definitely up for a mini-meet and JP has thrown around my name connected to a late summer larger meet. Not sure when would be a good time for a meet, but let's try to figure something out. If I am hosting, Mayberry will be more available through mid-June, then SF will be more available. Plus, we should get to a game. I would be happy to invite you to a Giants game if you can manage to stomach a National League game.
  6. Stupid kid being happy to get Slinky Dog and Slinky Bug for her birthday.
  7. Thanks David. I should have cropped that one in a bit, but the color of the wall in our dining room creates a nice gear back-drop. I am enjoying the 4070s right now, although it is the first couple hours of playing time. Is there burn-in with electrostats? Never thought of that before. The Woo Audio GES prototype I have on loan makes them sound better than the 007t, which kinda bums me out because I like the small form factor and balanced inputs on the Stax amp. It never ends...
  8. Two german dwarfs, one stein, FTW! Welcome to Head-Case Terry. These guys are just dicks and you should not listen to anything they say or pay attention to the mean-spirited pictures that they post, no matter how funny they are. You'll be just fine when your probation is up.
  9. That's what philodox said!
  10. Photos galore: And, finally, grawk-style:
  11. I just has some pretty decent fish and chips but I want a lobster rueben NOW!!! Nice pics Grahame. I guess you and Jo had a great time hanging in SoFla; at least you ate well.
  12. Well, I sold deepak my O2s when these were incoming. If I had a KGBH SE I would be sad about them leaving. In the meantime, I won't miss them. The O2s sound decent on the GES but not so much on my 007t.
  13. OK, OK, I haven't even opened the box yet! I will try them out and take a couple pics tonight.
  14. Finally arrived today!
  15. I have both and use them for different purposes. I don't always have a lappy and use my iMod for truly portable situations. If choosing only one I would go with the Pico no question.
  16. Really tempted to just buy that whole DCD collection on SACD. When are they shipping?

Cool pix. They seem to like wacky emoticons on that site.
  18. Without studying it closely, it seems that they used box sets to cover whole artists or periods of artists rather than picking their individual albums. The list is not really a 100 best jazz albums given that their stated purpose is to provide a broad sampling. From that perspective, it is pretty good but certainly leaves out albums that I would consider essential.
  19. Happy birthday! Cheers.
  20. [stevieo]Who? Wait. Who let that kid over here? Stole my toothpicks. This fucking place. Anybody can get in here.[/stevieo]
  21. Happy b-day X+!
  22. Shiny! Looking forward to hearing it.

The headband actually supports the weight pretty well and doesn't leave me feeling like I have really heavy cans sitting on my head. I know that I will not be doing a lot of activities wearing these, but that is cool by me.
  24. Definitely more than gear pron, including people, nature, traveling, etc. While the web would be the more likely place for gear shots, we do make prints for albums and framing on occasion. I was focused on the lens because even though I wasn't focused on full frame envy I have not been satisfied with the relatively lacking packaged lens (28-135, f/3.5-5.6) that came with the 40D (which I bought as CompUSA closed its doors). I enjoyed checking out the lenses and think that 40D with better lens options would be adequate. The new question posed today is what is lost by sticking with the 40D's 1.6x system? Thanks for the offer of the light tent, which is probably a solution for lots of the gear photo issues. Taking pics on the racks won't allow that, however, unless you got one big-ass tent.
