If he is good without being a dick all the time, and especially if he cuts that hair and gives up his signature doo-rags, maybe.

I enjoyed the 950 out of my 007t this weekend, even though I didn't have time for detailed listening. It is pretty forward for a 'stat but that was also in part because it was in comparison to the Sigma normal bias model I was checking out too. To my ears, the Sigma sounded under-powered and a bit diffuse in the mid-range. The vocals were set back in the mix and were too soft. the 950 has a lot of bass, also. I am going to try to borrow these off JP before he flips them.

If it is in a bucket of Mocha Mudslide ice cream it wouldn't be so bad, but the bucket turns out to be full of shit.

Nice Chris. Looking forward to hearing the 9 and 10 compared in Tampa next month. I just bought an iMac 24", 3.06GHz, 4GB ram, with wireless keyboard on the education discount. This one will replace the lamp-shade iMac we have had since those came out. Psyched for many reasons, not least of which will better HC surfing at home.

I am looking forward to hearing it during speaker hours at this very formal meet we have coming up.

Happy birthday indeed! Have a great one tomorrow Vicki, and yet another toast needed for Tampa. Maybe this one will be wheat grass! Cheers!

You're right Nate, they seem tired as hell and the lopsided pitching staffs right now is killing them. Good to see the ManRammer is getting Dodger Blue Balls wishing he could go to the WS and show up the Sox. Small consolation. I think it is even funnier that there won't be any hordes of Rays fans. I hope that wasn't too elitist.

I am more than happy that the Phillies are giving the Dodgers a drubbing, but a Phillies-Tampa Bay world series would be massively ignored.

I did request it over on HF. I don't think that they sell an amp. Just seems odd to me and I wouldn't want Fang to spend all that money thinking he was going to a bigger meet.
-
I just saw that Head Direct was going to the meet. It seems odd that Fang would come to Marin for a handful of people instead of going to LA for that meet. Should we tell him? Assuming he does come, hopefully he will bring the HeAudio Jade stats. That would be very cool.

No blackgates? I guess you were just too Tempted.

Holy crap that video is weird. Does Hank Jr. use some kind of monkey sign language or something? He keeps pointing at his head or eyes or whatever, and even makes a blinky hand gesture for that fine line of poetry. Anyway, watching the video makes this even more disturbing.
-
Because if you blink you might miss it when Putin rears his head over Alaska. Duh.

grawk says move on, we're standing strong . . . It doesn't seem that you like political discussion here Dan. Maybe there should be a rule like HF if you are going to squelch humorous remarks that are even music-related. The lryics are a bunch of gobbledygook, but my favorite part is that he sings about a "Sarah Palin tradition" when nobody heard of her 6 weeks ago. No wait, the best part is when it seems that he calls John McCain a "hey-goodlookin dish."

No chance, sorry.

Reks, you clearly need some thrum in your day.

But grawk wanted the new one and would not be able to use the Duet with it.
-
Apogee Duet users are bummed for sure...

got it. appleinsider had it listed that way but they got it wrong.

The new models all have Firewire 800 ports.

Thanks, but I expect there was no real danger this time. When we were speculating about some crazy in the building, we were sure it was somebody disgruntled about the financial situation.
-
Sorry to hear that Ken. The telephone interview is an odd concept to me, and it seems like it would be much harder to "impress" in that context. Like you say, on to the next opportunity.

Turns out it wasn't the protest march: Man who says game show turned him down prompts S.F. bomb scare John Koopman,Marisa Lagos, Chronicle Staff Writers Monday, October 13, 2008 (10-13) 14:41 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco police evacuated part of a Financial District high-rise today after a man angry that he had been turned down to appear on a TV game show walked into a law office wearing a blinking device that he described as a bomb, authorities and witnesses said. Police also cordoned off the area around California and Battery streets before arresting the man in the law office at 275 Battery St. The situation was resolved around 1:30 p.m. and police were in the process of reopening the streets around 2 p.m. The incident began when a man walked into the Lieff Cabraser law office and indicated to the receptionist that he had a bomb, police Sgt. Neville Gittens said. Police were called at 12:40 p.m. Officers evacuated the legal firm's offices on the 28th, 29th and 30th floors and arrested the man. His name has not been released. Gittens said the man had a device made of a white tube and some sort of flashing light. The bomb squad is examining it to determine whether it is actually an explosive, he said. Anthony McDaniel, facilities manager at the law office, said the man had been holding a note and wearing a belt with a blinking light. McDaniel said the man had indicated he was angry because he was passed over to appear on the TV game show "The Price is Right." The note that the man gave to the receptionist had the words, "Please help me," written across the bottom, McDaniel said. He said he had not heard the man threaten anyone. It was not immediately known whether the law firm has anything to do with the long-running game show, or whether the man had any other connections to the national law firm.
