Happy birthday fellas! I remembered your birthdays when I because they're on my anniversary and noticed that the birthday fairy, aka Tice, didn't notice! Hope you've had fun today!

Finally made me to Northern Michigan five hours later than planned. Too much time in a mask but hopefully I was not infected because I was very careful and sat in my own row for both flights. 🤞🏼

Got back on the plane after about three hours. Sat longer than expected and then they said there was a new problem being worked on. Apparently that is now fixed and we are leaving again. Soon. Hopefully. All the while in an N95 mask, which makes everything better, of course.

Delta doesn't fill middle seats so most rows had two people in them, and then there were a few empty rows around the wing exit rows. I had a full row to myself after moving up one row. I don't think the bars are open here...

I'm taking my first airline flight since early March, and my airline luck has picked up where it left off. We took off almost right on time even though the flight crew was late to arrive. After flying for a few minutes the captain came on to say that the cabin could not be pressurized properly so we had to turn around. Now back on the ground and not sure if or when we can get going again. My layover is only 90 min and the next/last flight of the day to my destination is five hours later. Fucking airlines are still fucking up.

Reverse sear is definitely my new favorite way to do steak, and I like the idea of smoking to temp. I'll have to try that.

Another reverse seared Ribeye, this time with homemade creamed spinach. Pulled out the steak at 110 degrees and did a quick sear. Plus I feel like I'm at a steakhouse with the bucket of creamed spinach I made. Fantastic.

Sorry for your loss, Jeff, and I hope your family has a chance to celebrate her long life safely somehow.

McConnell is promising a vote before January. We're fucked. RIP RBG, you badass.

The appetizer plates we're incredible and delicious, but man, that prime rib looks amazing!

Sure, they were awkward Midwestern white guys then too.

When I was 16 or so, we visited my older brother who was going to grad school in Chicago. My brothers took me out one night and I used his 23 yo ID to get into a number of places, including seeing a local band called Survivor. The venue was a weird hall with hay bails along the walls for seating. It was pretty funny to see them rocket to star status a couple years later after Rocky 3 came out.

Tonight I had a couple prime ribeyes and I did the reverse sear in the oven at 180 with a probe in the steak. I removed the steaks at 115 degrees and had a cast iron pan very hot and ready. Seared the top, bottom, and two long sides. Came out great for doneness, texture and crust.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see a Theme drop down. Choose Deflection or whatever it is called now.

Didn't happen for me either
