Adapted from a recipe by Bas Verhoeven, Door 74, Amsterdam. 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest 1 1/2 ounces aƱejo tequila 1 ounce dry vermouth 3 teaspoons maraschino liqueur 1 lemon twist, as garnish
Instructions: Put the lemon zest in a mixing glass and fill it with cubed ice. Add the remaining ingredients and stir for 10 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass and add the garnish.
Doubled the recipe so I could start watching The Trip, but used Reposado instead of Anejo. Very interesting. Tequila flavor comes through but a bit sweet and lemony. One of the better uses of Maraschino, I would say.
