  1. Romance Cocktail Equal parts brandy, Amer Picon substitute, sweet and dry vermouth.
  2. You're always welcome in Mayberry Greg, where cyclists rule.
  3. I personally am speechless. Continued epicness to you both.
  4. Sorry about your dad's setback Marc. Sending good thoughts your way for a successful procedure tomorrow. JP has been quite slow on sending out his change of address cards but he is most definitely back in SoFla again. The authorities are well aware, so rest easy. I have spent a few hours cleaning out our so-called basement, and decided to turn the antique refrigerator (non-functioning) into a beer cellar. This thing seems to have been original to the house, and actually supports the bottom floor of the house because a joist rests right on it. I cleaned it inside and out and may one day figure out how to get new hinges for the ice cube compartment on the top left and a new handle/latch for the main door on the top right. Instead of storing the beer in my liquor cabinet under the stairs ("the closet of awesome" as Edwood called it in a text to Peter last week), I figure it will be happier under the house in this cool insulated box. The shelves are metal mesh and not super strong in the middle, so I stacked the three full shelves I have one top of each other and have one strong shelf splitting the main space. The dank hold on the bottom that was once a freezer will house only appropriately named or labeled brews. Although looking at the pics now, I realize now I could have put the Jolly Pumpkin down there instead of the Oude Vieille Geuze, even though I quite like that dark castle on the label.
  5. Possibly?!
  6. Oh, come on, you're making this too easy!
  7. Yes, the Ardbegs are dusty but I thought it gave them character so I left it. Now enjoying a DFH Hellhound in the Mayberry heat.
  8. Smoked pork loin, bacon, provolone and onion sandwich with DFH Hellhound on the side.
  9. I am less convinced but really want an explanation or executive summary of this graphy shit.
  10. OK, Oogie / Airigh Nam Beist "cocktail" on deck. Giants are finally having a good game while Beltran shows some life!
  11. Nice flair!
  12. Good news is good, Marc. Wishing good thoughts your way. Glad to hear the good result at the bank, Fitz, even with some hassle as a consequence
  13. Host's prerogative!
  14. Negroni on Rye? Ryegroni? Whatever you call it this is an odd drink that I made because I had made a Negroni with Charbay Double & Twisted Bourbon instead of gin and that was very tasty. This Barbershop Rye Negroni is interesting but not as successful a variation as the D&T version. But it is big. It has that going for it. In any event, cheers everybody!
  15. Bought a bottle of Bruery Rogbrod at Toronado and brown bagged it at the new Greenburger place across the street. Excellent all around. @Naaman: if you mean bitters, I would say Angostura, Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas Own Decanter or whatever it is called (a fave), or a cherry bitters like Fee Bros.
  16. Raffy and Mike are throwing down the beer gauntlet early! Nice selections, fellas.
  17. Awesome bottle number!
  18. BB&B sells Oxo cocktail tools...
  19. Nice haul, Scott! It is a long weekend after all. I dropped my car off this morning with and ended up buying 4 new low profile tires, an oil/filter change, and a new air filter. At least I didn't have to go to the dealer, but I still fucking hate dealing with car maintenance. The tires on this car have been a pain throughout.
  20. I bet Irene blew in some kind of bug that got you. Feel better and have a great weekend Nate!
  21. hurray for 25!
  22. Whatcha think? I quite liked it.
  23. I like it much better and it isn't in 1 liter bottles either. Wow, wish I wasn't working on learning about a new case so I could drive over to Mikey's and join the Peat Fest.
  24. I hope that's your code name for a 50-50 mixture of bourbon and lemonade.
  25. That's awful, Ken. Condolences to you and to Stacy for the loss.
