  1. That's sad news, Steve. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and protégé. 😢
  2. Great work Jeff!
  3. Looking good, doctor!
  4. Try it with your shop vac to see the results. Maybe it is better than I remember.
  5. I've working in the shop in Michigan a lot lately and the dust is completely insane without any dust collection beyond the world's loudest and crappiest old shop vac vaguely stuck into the bank of the Sawstop. I have to wear a mask and it would be even worse if there wasn't an air filter. I say this because the same saw in Mayberry with the Supercell creates far, far less dust. It sucks down way more of the dust than I realized. I looked into the overarm booms and decided it was a lot of cost for not so much difference in most cases. I don't often use the blade guard vacuum attachment but even with the Festool vacuum attached in conjunction with the Supercell on the main port, it doesn't change the dust on the saw top very much. Getting the combo arm that connects both to the Supercell didn't seem like it could be that much better. If you were cutting sheet goods all the time, the big boom arm might be useful, but it wouldn't do much in many cases. I watched all the videos too, and the results didn't seem worthwhile.
  6. You're just green with envy!
  7. Burrito with chorizo and eggs and cheese and beans, with some extra stuff for dipping chips.
  8. Is that Pete's daughter?
  9. Holy smokes! That would have been worth some hassle to get for $4k.
  10. Thanks for the tip, Jeff, but the distance and truck rental and other impediments make it too much work and expense. There are a couple of used jointers near me but I'm not too excited about them and they are asking too much for them.
  11. I can't get the seriously crappy Harbor Fright bandsaw here in Michigan to hold a blade, no matter how many times I have tried. The tires are tired and I have a hard time rationalizing replacing parts on a piece of shit. That said, the crappy Craftsman 6" jointer released its magic smoke the other day and stopped working. But with encouragement I ordered a new start up capacitor and expedited shipping for twice the price of the part to resuscitate it. No change with the new cap, so another tool is headed for you scrap heap.
  12. Tell them it will be gray before long all on its own.
  13. Bedtime listening. ❤️
  14. RIP Joey D. That's sad and way too young. We saw him play several times and he could swing. 😢
  15. Fuck Putin! 2x8 is pretty substantial stock, tho...
  16. Checking out Eli right now. Thanks Rob!
  17. It sucks that Young Matt will never be Old Matt. Missing you is an understatement.
  18. Just a reference back to my post about my first time... The lumber gave me wood. Big slabs and beautiful figures.
  19. I re-entered Willie's Rear this morning after dropping Alden at the airport and before a great lumber shop I found would open. I saw one item on the menu that I figured I had to order. With brown bread in tribute (not to Jim 😁).
  20. Happy Birthday Ian! Cheers!
  21. Courtney was really good for the 30 minutes she had. She also came out to sing California Stars with Tweedy. Admittedly, I was a little jealous that the Pitchfork Fest crowd got a duet with Japanese Breakfast, but this was good too.
  22. Wilco at Interochen's Kresge Auditorium. Opening act is Courtney Marie Andrews, and @blessingx is the sole member to post her music in the listening thread. Most of the crowd is wandering the grounds and enjoying the evening sun than watching Courtney.
  23. Congrat! Awesome pics, and the second one made me a little misty. 🥲
  24. You don't have to sweat the guy but you could tell him that it happened again and maybe he coukd figure out what fixed it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I agree with not making his life more miserable.
