We went to the gala opening of the SFJazz Center last night and saw an incredible lineup of jazz legends and current stars. McCoy Tyner, Bobby Hutcherson, Chick Corea, John Handy, Mary Stallings, Joshua Redman, Esperanza Spalding, Bill Frissell, Eric Harland, Brad Meldau, Pete Escovedo, Avishai Cohen, Joe Lovano, Stefan Harris, SFJazz Collective, etc etc etc. I wanted to take a picture of the program so you can see it all in print, but you can actually listen to the whole concert that was streamed on NPR Music last night. Planning ahead and renting houses or whatever -- through Airbnb or similar -- would be cool. I haven't been to JazzFest but love NOLA, so I would be up for exploring options.

Red-meat averse daughter was at a friend's tonight so I ran out and got three nice little ribeye steaks, some baby brocoli, and some frozen yukon gold fries. Mmm, steaky. The red meat contingent was happy, except the "baby" brocoli was a little long in the tooth.

The syncing parts are working fine -- and they did before as well -- but interacting with the damn thing is a mystery to me. I used to know how to go online and see my .Mac email and stored photos, find my phone, and shit, and now I cannot navigate any of it easily. I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out, but I still think it is clunky.

I had been carrying around that weird guitar box full of Kevin's whisk(e)y for hours in addition to whatever number of beers and other random stuff I had that night. And I know my lack of memory cannot be trusted.

Like the way it was consumed. 50% by me and 50% by everyone else.

The original red vodka at Chicago CanJam was not Crystal Head. It was either Stoli or Absolut, I think. For MOA II, I bought a bottle and added some red food coloring as a joke. I don't think it tasted all that good when I drank it (sans coloring) and its rep is not strong iirc.

I have heard it is a pain and doesn't always work,* but it seems like a great idea. See Dinny's repeated comments that Apple doesn't really get the Internet yet.
