There was no iPhone "3" or "2" for that matter. The 3G was the successor to the original iPhone and the 3GS came next. They haven't made the 3G for a long time (2009) but the 3GS was made until late last year.

Arthritis in the wrist from a 20-year old bone graft was one of the factors that required me to have a bone fusion recently. Not perfect yet and I still have phantom nerve issues but overall a success.
