Definitely my thinking and plan for the day. Timing is open to other people's needs. My daughter Sophie and maybe her girlfriend can join in the early evening, but not quite the afternoon. We could meet for a late lunch at Court Street Grocers for some amazing sandwiches and then walk to Other Half and then to Finback. There are other brewery options nearby that are not as great but people also like, such as Threes Brewing. It's a haul back to midtown near the meet location but it's worth it. 😁 Saturday dinner would be great to get a number of folks together after the meet. I haven't thought about location for that but maybe @Kerry or even @jp11801 might have some local knowledge.

RIP to Plug Two, Trugoy the Dove of De LA Soul at age 54. I played the shit out of their first album when it came out, and we saw them play at Cornell that year. Sad. 😢 https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/de-la-soul-trugoy-the-dove-dead-obit-1234678463/amp/

You can't find redwood like this around here, except on old buildings. I like new redwood too, but I should put a piece of current stuff next to this 75+ year old wood to show how different it looks. I don't know what to call that maple other than beautiful

Once there's a bunch of hay piled in there, it will be less coffin-like. 😁

My brother had his new garage designed to emulate the oldest building in town, which is called the Woodside Store and is now a museum. The back side has a wrap around covered porch like the original shown below. Tom took me there last week to show me some benches and feed troughs that he thought were cool. He wondered whether I might be able to replicate them with the reclaimed redwood that Steve and I have been using to panel his wife's tack rooms. Here are some lousy pics of the originals. I brought a stack of the redwood home to finish planing and milling and decided to take a stab at them. I didn't do measurements but used those pics to make designs and a template that I used for the bench legs and trough dividers. Here are some crappy pics of the two benches, one standing trough and one low one I made.

Looks pretty good. Did you add liquid as you form it?

I guess I'm planning on going to canjam on Saturday but one day will be plenty. Claire and I just got tickets to see John Zorn Masada Quartet at the Village Vanguard at 3:00pm on Sunday 2/26. Julian Lage is playing guitar for this gig. We had a pretty big Head-case contingent for a Zorn show in SF years ago, and most people doubled down for the second set. This is just a Sunday matinee, but does anyone else want to join? Tickets available here: https://villagevanguard.squadup.com/2022.html Figuring on brunch or lunch with the crew beforehand. Claire and I are having dinner at some friends that night, just FYI.

Happy Actual Birthday Jeff! Cheers!

Oneida remote sucks brass balls. There are work around options online but I haven't done anything yet. Oddly enough, I managed to collapse the 6" hose connecting the drum to the Supercell today. Not quite sure how, but I was planing redwood and it was over full before I noticed the flashing red light.
-
The bang is there to stay. The suction on the Supercell is not to be tempered.
-
-
That's a serious haul and $15 is crazy.
-
What didn't you like about the Oneida four inch hose? It will certainly never collapse and I have not had any trouble with it.

If you haven't seen this skit, it is must see TV!

RIP Tom Verlaine of Television and other musical adventures. https://pitchfork.com/news/televisions-tom-verlaine-dies-at-73/amp/

Seems like quite an upgrade.

100 feet is not too long for the Supercell
