Holy crap. Do the Sox even have bats with them when they are going to the plate?
-
The curries were great but I LOVE Lime Pickle! I will be acquiring some soon!
-
No chance the Dodgers are making out of the 0-2 hole. Quote me! I am rooting against Dodgers to the end, whenever that is. I get to root for the Sox now even though Todd will be bummed when the Sox step all over the Tigers.

Boy that headphone stand/amp/dac is atrocious. Cheers to Todd & Pete at RMAF -- wish I were hanging with you guys, having beers, and maybe watching the Red Sox kick ass! (Sorry Todd ). Toasting you with a Topless Wytch (c/o Mike Sr. I believe) while working in Mayberry. Cheers!

I'm jealous that Jeff actually knows how to take real photos and can use something than the Auto setting. -
Look, it's all explained here:

It's not that often that in one night you can see world class jazz musicians play amazing arrangements of all these tunes: Ornette Coleman -- When Will the Blues Leave Thelonious Monk -- Crepescule With Nellie and San Francisco Holiday Herbie Hancock -- And What If I Don't Horace Silver -- Song For My Father (encore -- it made me think of Jacob) For their 10th anniversary year, the SF Jazz Collective is doing a retrospective of their greatest hits, including their annual arrangements of a Jazz Giant's compositions and their own original compositions inspired by that artist. We heard nine fabulous tunes, with two of Monk's because it would be his 96th birthday today. I should have had a Brother Thelonious beer, which was available, but I really don't like it so I had a La Merle Saison instead. I figured Monk wouldn't mind and would have made the same choice. After the run here through Sunday, this is their very odd tour schedule coming up, and I highly recommend seeing them if you are able: Oct 15 Chico, CA Laxson Auditorium Buy Tickets Oct 17 Santa Barbara, CA Campbell Hall Buy Tickets Oct 19 Los Angeles, CA Zipper Concert Hall Buy Tickets Oct 22 Seattle, WA Earshot Jazz Festival Buy Tickets Oct 23 Davis, CA Mondavi Center Buy Tickets Oct 26 Newport News, VA Ferguson Center Concert Hall Buy Tickets Oct 27 Winchester, VA Shenandoah University Buy Tickets

I don't like the Dodgers even advancing this far, but so long as their hopes and dreams are crushed at some point that will suffice.
-
Well, the Pirates' offense hasn't shown up through 6 so I'm a little concerned about their ability to beat the Dodgers. I'm just going to wait and see who wins and then root for them against the damn Dodgers.
-
You know, I'm kind of sick of the Cards too even though they are one of my typical NL fallback teams (in part due to a good friend from StL). I'm rooting for the Pirates tonight (so long as you'all think they can beat the Dodgers for sure)!
-
Yuck! And good luck!
-
Sorry Wayne, but RED SOX WIN! I really want Detroit to beat the A's and then have the Sox take the pennant. Stupid Braves couldn't manage the Dodgers but I hope the Cards win and then wipe the LA blight out of the post-season.

Is that ingwe on the left? -
I had to have some of those Local Option dimpled mugs so I ordered them while you were out having fun and getting drunk. This is how they were delivered to me: The choice of box to reuse was amazing, but I especially like the extra effort to add the pentagram and da Bears on the top!

I watched lots of water going in the opposite direction on the way to the long term parking lot at SFO. Apparently a bus ran over a hydrant and Old Faithful SF was born

I didn't know pimps were feathered.

Ain't that the motherfucking truth!

Condolences Wayne. I lost a classmate during senior year and several since.

Sadly, the Head-Case intelligence quotient is now less.

I hope you have some live gigs while you look like two-face because that would be awesome in black light and strobes and shit. I hope you feel all better soon, though, too.

When I'm gone, would somebody please say that I was generally badass, even if you don't think it is true? I really like the sound of that for an epitaph. RIP Signor Badass. Not a huge Clancy fan, but I'm surprised he was only 66 let alone that he died that young. RIP Mr. C. Adding to the list, I want to mention a guy I barely know named Leonard who passed away this week at the age of 50 or 51. He was the husband of one of Claire's good friends and a nice guy from my few interactions. He found out he had cancer less than a year ago, went through surgery and chemo and radiation and all that, only to find that the cancer was everywhere and stopping it was hopeless. He came home for hospice care on Friday and was gone Tuesday morning. Saddest part is that in his stupor after finding out about cancer last year he let his life insurance lapse and it was lost. While a two-teacher-income household is hard enough in SF, a one-teacher-income is going to be really tough and whatever they would have gotten from life insurance would have been a huge help. Fuck. RIP Leonard.

I'd love to see the Dodgers get swept, but losing the NLDS will be good enough for me. Red Sox - Cards series would be epic.
