Fuck, this year is claiming too many greats. I'm going to have to find Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and to watch tonight while drinking some bergin in his honor. RIP Mike

I will NOT wish happy birthday to this Jonny Numbers! I hope you can have a good one anyway, my friend. Party hearty! Cheers!

Well I'm pretty sure I can't give a single fuck.

Happy birthday Alex! Cheers

I'm a Klugman fan from Odd Couple days and loved Quincy because he was the man. A lot of great shows there. RIP Glen.

Thanks Todd! Next time, I'll PM rather than fester.

Same here. The last couple of weeks at least. Using the broad search feature of the whole site, I got zero hits for "eggnog" or variations thereof, but simple searches within threads containing that term will pull it up.

They are an awesome trio. Anthony's crazy facial expressions and her bouncing around like a teeny bopper are such a contrast while they both play the shit out of their instruments. Great stuff.

I hope you have time to monkey around today, and it's great that you got to hang out with some HC buds last night. Cheers!

Hope you're having a mighty fine day, Mikey! Cheers!

Have a great birthday dinner, Chris!

Congrats to Lance! Exciting stuff and some challenges to come. Sorry Dan, that sucks. You'll lick the Lyme.

I tend to think anything but TOTL B&W stuff is too beamy and doesn't create warmth and enveloping realism, but that goes back aways. In addition to passive ATCs, which I think you would like a lot, I think you should check out DeVore speakers. There are some on Audiogon right now that are below, just above and way above your price range, but there will be others out there as well. The aesthetic and cat-friendliness is right and the sound is great.

Nate is in the Happiest Place On Earth® so there is no way to defeat his happiness.

Welcome home Grahame! Good work Todd!

RIP Manitas

My favorite recording has been released by different names at different times, but it is from 1963 (a good year if I say so myself) and was recorded in a medieval chapel in Arles, France. The Connoisseurs Society recorded and released it. My disc is called Manitas de Plata and Friends but there is a longer version they released as a three-record set. There are flac files floating around the web. I also like the Carnegie Hall recording and some others I cannot recall by name.

Sorry, hypocritical post removed. I forgot what thread I was in.

Wow, it was good! No heavy breading and no overlooking of the shrimp made it pretty much perfect.

What about the Stereophile-backed meet idea? NYC?
-
I'm sure that none of the HC crew will be actively involved in putting on this event like the second through fifth national meets. That said, if people want an excuse to congregate then I might make my way down there and drop into the CanJam event briefly.

RIP Manitas de Plata, my all-time favorite flamenco guitarist. He was 93 and lived a very full life (he's not sure how many children he has spawned), so it is not terribly sad news, but worthy of noting and some listening today. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-29937355
