Been lazy and hadn't reserved a room ... until now. I'm booked! Arriving Friday, departing Sunday.

Just returned from a day trip to the Detroit area with my son-in-laws. Did some shopping, shot some pool, ate tapas and watched flamenco dancing. Great day! Good time had by all.

Oh Oh. That never bodes well. My gun buying habits changed once my bride discovered what they cost. I've become quite adept at side stepping the cost question. Not too early to learn effective deflection techniques.

Damn, that made me laugh! No doubt why I'm having issues with the discs now.

Thanks Stretch! I'll install the firmware update and try Pinocchio again. I also think I'll try a low tech fix...wash the disc. If that doesn't work then I'll call Oppo. Although I'm sure the discs are not in great shape to begin with, all the bd discs have been ordered through Netflix.

I've noticed the BD-83 has difficulty with Disney bd. Not unusual to have to load the bd disc several times in order to get the Oppo to accept it. Seems Disney bd is the only one I have issues with. Since I have grandchildren that like to hang out at my house Disney dvds are a household staple. I just tried to play Pinocchio bd and the Oppo will not accept it. I see there is a firmware update available but it doesn't appear from the description that it will fix the issue. Rather than rant or whine, has anyone else had this issue? More importantly if you have, do you have a resolution? If not I'll just forgo the bd and get the dvds instead.

x2 on Rodrigo Y Gabriela - 11:11 One of my favorite albums from 2009. I also enjoyed the 40th anniversary release of King Crimson's Red and Moby's Wait for me. This recording of Red is clearly superior to previous recordings IMO as well as a great listen. Wait for Me has a sublime etheral feel. The total experience is greater than the collection of songs.

Congratulations! x3 on the combo bassinet/car seat stroller. My kids have successfully used that and my newest grandchild (6 weeks old) was sound asleep all evening when they brought their kids over for a visit. BTW, I tried playing the BD version for Pinocchio on the Oppo BDP-83 and it would not play. Not the first Disney BD I've had problems playing on the Oppo.

Working my way through the Rush discography... Listened to Listening to On deck I seem to be missing a couple of discs. I'll have to correct that oversight. I may work through the entire body of work, or at least what I have on hand.
