Salvatore Accardo "Vivaldi - The Four Seasons" One of my favorite albums as well as a reference recording for me. Listening with the Opus 21 and I'm not disappointed.

Just turned on the TV, looked in TV Guide to find the MSU/Alabama game and WTF, not available. Then looked to make sure the Rose Bowl will be available, and it's not. I only have OTA (over the air) and no satellite or cable (well, I have the basic 12 channel package for the internet, but not the standard which includes ESPN). I have no interest in the ONE game available to me today. This sucks. Guess college football will soon be another item that's just a memory.

Main and back up cables both went within 5 minutes of each other. Scrounged around and found a 3rd optical cable. Too short but will do. Now if I can just figure out where to get new connectors and then how to put them on.

Drove 50 miles to a country meat market buying fresh butchered organic beef, pork & chicken. Broke the optical connectors on two toslink cables. Now making chili. Think I'll relax easing out of 2010 and starting 2011.

This thread lost it's entertainment value a long time ago. You gents have all offered solid advice, most of which has been rejected by bmasseur, who ever he/she is. Like MPI sez, BM has already made up his/her mind and is simply looking for validation of their opinion. Why you're wasting your breath (er...words) is beyond me. The ER-6i was my entry drug into this hobby. The Etys, Shure SE530 and JHx are great suggestions that is simply being ignored. I seem to recall reading something about the lack of wisdom in casting pearls before swine ... er, BM. What a waste. (OK, I'm 8 oz of Famous Grouse into writing this, but I'm pretty fed up with the stupidity of BM)

Although anything and everything I have is for sale for the right price ... except my bride ... I'm not looking to let the Oppo go. Videophiles will probably notice the difference between DVD and Bluray, but on the BDP-83 the picture is pretty much the same. No idea on the used values, but $400 seems high unless it includes shipping and pay pal fees.

I finally got an opportunity to listen to Crown Imperial. I enjoy organ music. HDCD is a good recording, and the music is more orchestral than organ. A nice listen.

Nice gesture Wayne. Sure the young fella will be surprised. Day two of our Christmas festivities. Last night we had our children and grand children over. Today was most of my wife's family. Tomorrow we travel about an hour to be with most of my family. Work is beginning to sound like a vacation ... well, almost.
